ITS TIME! For the uncut reaction at least lol. The movie starts about 10 minutes in, I tried to do a recap for ya'll of The Two Towers but damn its a long movie and a lot happened 😂 idk if i'll trim or cut it from the YouTube post but its full on here lmao. Sorry for calling Boromir Bolomir 90% of this reaction too cause names arent my strong suit, but either way this may be the best of the trilogy. Laughter, stress, tears and joy all around. I'm working hard on the edit over the next couple days. Thanks for the patience and love on this journey <3<3<3

That’s so funny, I literally joined the Patreon and 4 minutes later you posted what I was looking for 😭

deadringerrr

going on a 5 hour bus ride in a few hours. this is PERFECT

LETS GOOOOOOOO

Mauro

Finally!

Bookwormy

Need to unwind, this is a great way to de-stress after today. Hurray! Side note: I really think you guys would like the making of, even in your own time.

thebirdcatcher1

Greatest recap ever. Please combine them all at the end.

Talitha

🎉👏🙌🧙‍♂️🧝‍♀️🧝‍♂️✨️🖤 Also, thank you ! Lol

marmaladexx

Grabbing my pen and tuning in - if this is the last thing I watch before these tornadoes come thru, it’ll be spent w friends 🧙🏻‍♂️🧝🏻‍♀️

Jaime

The hobbit next? 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Lindsay Mathieson

Good luck! Hopefully your power stays up so you can keep watching - priorities after all!

Ash

The only part where I prefer the theatrical version to extended is when Aragorn goes to get the dead army. In theatrical it out cuts after he shouts "What say you?" and we don't know their answer until he, Gimli, and Legolas jump off the ships. Imo that was a better reveal.

Mr Johnstone.

I will say after just finnishing your Two Towers Reaction that pipe weed that they smoke is actually supposed to be weed, at the start of this film when merry and pippin are on the wall smoking eating and drinking it was filmed 3 different ways very stoned, very drunk, and mildly stoned and drunk the more family friendly version that we got and it also explains why Hobbits eat so much because they have the munchies and when Bilbo is talking to Gandalf just before the party you can see his eyes are glazed over and seems spaced out, this kind of died out over time due to the illegality of weed around the world but it is infact weed and not tobacco, this was a homage to Tolkiens love of smoking pipe tobacco ❤️ but I time for the return of the king reaction 😎

Lindsay Mathieson

That recap was AWESOME! I'm impressed, you covered all the plot and character points.

Hori Zon

you may not like it but this is what peak couple looks like

Lindsay Mathieson

Eowyn dream was a bit of fan service, not really relevant to the plot. It's from The Silmarillion, she dreamed of the fall of Numenor, Aragon's ancient homeland.

Euphemia Isobel

The Hobbit is still worth watching, no it's not as good as LOTR but it's also not as bad as people acted like it was at the time they came out. I know most people despise Rings of Power because they've changed so much from the Silmarillion but even that I enjoyed season 2 a lot, but I understand completely why people don't like it.

Abby

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for setting right the transparency 🤓

deadringerrr

I have watched these movies probably like about 50 times and even I couldnt give such a comprehensive recap like this HAHA

Sunniva H

Best reacap ever🤣

Comments in the Louvre

Definitely look up Andy Serkis playing Golem. Also, Benedict Cumberbatch plays as Smaug in The Hobbit.

jacksantore

"That forest ate the shit out them orcs" is one of the best things any reactor has ever put onto the internet. Cody should do short recaps of crazy epic stuff as Youtube shorts or something, freakin' hilarious.

Milsr09

Woohoo! Lessgo baby!

Ryan b

the recaps is what i live for now

Ismail Chettfour

This trilogy is pure perfection. I’m almost jealous you guys get to remember the first time. Watching these as a kid absolutely ruined most all other fantasy 😂 absolute peak

Jo Painter

YEYYY!! So excited for this! :)

Ömer Sakmar

If you do end up reading the books, make sure you go through the appendix as well. Some parts of the movies are heavily inspired from them (like Aragorn and Arwen's backstory)

Amanda Williams

I thought it was originally Faramir's dream.

Max

While the ending seems sad, going with the elves allows frodo a chance to be without the pain from his wound and mentally recover so despite not being able to come back he can live in peace. Also, due to this being extended to all ringbearers Sam also ends up going there eventually due to him carrying the ring for a while after shelob.

Tys van Zeijl

I think you guys might actually enjoy the hobbit trilogy. Good casual crowd. (Its no lotr tho). But then again, the Hobbit is much more of a fairy tale in nature than the Lord of the Rings.

Sunniva H

Would be fun if you watched the movie "Tolkien" after this(as well as The Hobbit)🤌😁

MetalBabe Sami

Don’t feel bad Bridgette. I always cry when Aragorn says you bow to no one to the hobbits 😭😭😭

marmaladexx

The Hobbit Trilogy is divisive in the fandom but I really enjoyed them! I just like being in this world so I’ll watch pretty much whatever content they push out - I didn’t finish Rings of Power when it first came out (lowkey wasn’t gripping tv until towards the end) but I liked the second season well enough!! Hope u guys watch The Hobbit I think you’d have an enjoyable time if nothing and I’d love to watch them with you!

Tys van Zeijl

The Orcs all chanting 'Ron!' Is hilarious

Stefan

we all cry at that moment... its what i wait for every reaction "you bow to now one "

AlexandraInTX

Fun fact: the big, ugly lead orc was designed to look like Harvey Weinstein. They nailed it.

NeptunesOdds

I love the hobbit trilogy, i havemt read the book though which may be why but the Hobbit Trilogy is just fun, and i love dragons

connie

i definitely recommend both the hobbit movies and the rings of power show! idc what the nitpickers say, they're good! but since they are all adaptations of books, with creative liberties taken, i do think reading the original material is needed for the "full experience" lol

Lindsay Mathieson

Faramir dreamed the same dream Boromir mentioned at Rivendell

Tys van Zeijl

i've seen a lot of lotr reactions guys, but yours are in my top 3. Absolutely lovely

Vood jin

The hobbit is great, but if you think that woke mess called Rings of Power has something to do with Lord of the Rings you have no idea what you're Tolkien about...

Vood jin

The Moment you realize the third eagle was for Smeagul...

Jimbobdudebro

Just so you might have a better understanding because it doesnt delve to deep into, think of the undying lands and the place the elves are sailing to as heaven, not everyone goes there though only elves no one know what happens after humans die so the elves extending this honor to frodo is like letting a creature that would not end up there other wise, spend eternity in heaven for the things he did!!

connie

I'll be honest with you, I can't take any argument seriously if it includes the word woke. But in any case, you're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. I hope that you get to enjoy other stuff in the IP at least. ✌️

Sem Vikingr

At the end, that little girl running up to Sean Austin(Sam) was his actual daughter.

ChunkyTom

The hardcore fans are the only ones that hate on the Hobbit trilogy, but with you guys coming from a normal perspective I'm sure you will enjoy it and even the rings of power show. Try not to let them defer you from watching anytime soon.

John Smithe

You guys gotta watch the extended Hobbit movies. Mostly negligible for the first two, but essential for the last one.

Steven Poe

I can't take seriously anyone who would recommend Rings of Power. Sort your life out.

Kaleb O'Connor

rings of powers issues dont stem from the "wokeness" of it though its just trying to adapt something that has so little actual source material that's consistent is the actual problem

Blackeyedlily

And it was only in the last year or two that he attended her college graduation!

Blackeyedlily

When you think about why Frodo left in the end, consider the fact that JRR Tolkien fought in World War I. He lost several very close friends in that war. And he saw that a large number of the young men of his generation, who survived the war, lived with physical and mental impairments for the rest of their lives. It was the war where we got the term shell shocked. I always think that shaped the way that he thought about Frodo. That he was someone who was so damaged by his experiences, that he could not enjoy his life again in any normal sense. So going to the Undying Lands was essentially going somewhere that he could find true healing. Or as many people like to think of it, as an analogy for the afterlife. I love that moment when Frodo boards the boat, and he stops to turn back and smiles one last time at his friends. Because you can see a glimpse of the happy Frodo that we met at the beginning of the first movie in that moment. And while the trilogy does have a happy ending, it is meant to be bittersweet. It’s kind of like what Sam was saying in that monologue at the end of the Two Towers. When he was wondering how the world could go back to what it was, when so many horrible things had happened. And while the good fight is worth fighting, some things will never be the same. Sam doesn’t say that part in his little pep talk to Frodo. But that’s kind of what the end of this movie is about.

Blackeyedlily

Since you guys noticed the use of the Shire’s music toward the very end of the movie, when Sam and Frodo were on the slope of Mount Doom. I wanted to share this short, YouTube video that, in a small way, analyzes the LOTR musical score, focusing on the Shire theme and the Grey Havens theme. Lots of people have made wonderful videos, analyzing aspects of this trilogy. I think this is a particularly beautiful one. And it helps to explain Frodo leaving in the end. https://youtu.be/Azd7lyJ4918?si=1PF46_-qdlE646XI

Abraham Lever

Haven’t seen these two go through this many emotions since Game of Thrones lol

William

Aragorn is not lying when he tells Eowyn that he cannot give her what she seeks. It is true that Eowyn was idealizing Aragorn. She could not see that he belonged to someone else, someone who was occupying his thoughts and concerns even while they were apart. Aragorn's despondence was not lifted by Eowyn, in all the moments she expresses her interest in him, but Eowyn is too caught up in the idea of Aragorn to ever let herself notice it. Aragorn sees that she would rather continue to try to force her success with him than acknowledge that her attempts are not bringing joy or happiness to him. She failed to differentiate the thoughts and ideas in her mind from the reality, and so Aragorn is true when he says that it is but a shadow and a thought that she loves and that he cannot give her what she seeks. She isn't seeking Aragorn.

Sean b

Hey I saw your lotr reaction and immediately got patreon and subbed to you guys thank you for being you

Tys van Zeijl

checking this out i realize it once popped up in my recommended. Def gonna watch it. thx

Tys van Zeijl

beside the fact that I like your analysis; you made me realize something about myself in past relationships, and its going to help me in the future. Thank you for that!

Tys van Zeijl

I guess it could only be seen as heaven by mortals who dwell only in Middle-Earth

Paul D

Yeah, none of that is true.

Mr Johnstone.

https://www.cbr.com/lord-of-the-rings-pipe-weed-explained/ " While The Lord of the Rings novels blatantly compares pipe-weed to tobacco, one could argue the text hints at a sneaky marijuana metaphor, too. Jackson seemed to think so, and so do many fans. As noted by Leafly, cannabis breeders have gone on to use alternate names for pipe-weed, like Longbottom Leaf, Old Toby and Southern Star, for their strands. So, no matter whether Gandalf is actually the stoner that Saruman seems to think he is, pipe-weed remains an iconic part of The Lord of the Rings universe and the cannabis community.

Mr Johnstone.

seems like a very odd thing to make up :/

Mr Johnstone.

all I had to google was Merry Pippin wall stoned, and the AI even gave me " The Ent-draught and "pipe-weed" (tobacco or potentially marijuana in some interpretations) are distinct substances. While pipe-weed is often portrayed as a recreational substance, the Ent-draught's effects are more related to physical and perceptual changes"

Thanks for sharing this reaction with us! I really enjoyed it, The Lord of the Rings is my favorite movie (counting all three as one, they're all parts of the same story), and I find it sad for anyone who goes through their life without seeing it, it's a must! Just an amazing film. --- I am new here but so far I really enjoyed how you did your reaction to the Lord of the Rings above several others; no special edits, no cuts to the film, no zoom ins on your faces every time you react to something, just a simple reaction video. It was nice, I hope to see more like this! (I hope I don't seem rude, not complaining about how you did your other reactions in any way, just giving some feedback!)

Tys van Zeijl

guys the full audiobooks read by andy serkis are on spotify now. just a tip for If you guys still haven't gotten around to reading them yet

erume

great recommendation, thank you

And I LOVED your reaction to one of my favorite tales of all time- I relived every bout of laughter and shared every tear alongside you! 💜💜 Also, if you would consider watching The Hobbit trilogy- Bilbo’s story has quite a bit to show you as well 🥰 And Gimli’s father, Gloin!

PhatBoySteven

I can't stop crying laughing at you trying to hide your laugh at 2:09:08 😭😭😭

Cristabel

😭😭😭😭😭like a baby every damn time

Like a lot of things in the book, it isnt fully explained for the film. There's a couple of things that all work together for why Smeagol is taken so fast. The first more obvious one is that the ring had been lost for so long and was fully awake trying to get back, so it was in full force looking for someone to corrupt fast and be a new carrier. Who you are is are important for the ring, it preys on your moral character and ambition. Smeagol was already a greedy and not nice person to start with, and then blasted by the ring giving its full force immediately. Then finally how you get the ring has some influence. Because the initial corruption of his greed pushed him to commit an evil act to obtain the ring, the ring got its roots instantly into the core of Smeagols soul. Bilbo got the ring while sparing Gollums life, and this act along with who he was protected him. It was only finally starting to corrupt him more deeply most of a century later, for Gollum that process was in full swing from day one.

W Mabb

Fun (?) fact, that gross cauliflower pig looking orc based on Harvey Weinstein, who tried to get Peter Jackson to cut lotr down to a single movie. It is much more appropriate in hindsight

W Mabb

I’m so glad to see someone enjoy these movies, this and your attack on titan reaction have brought so much fun. Really Hope you watch the hobbit trilogy someday
