UGH! I just like to stay in denial as long as I can. This episode hits so hard that it was almost literally impossible for me to full process first watch. The attack on the wall and with Tommy was amazing but I just can't even shake everything off lol. Here's the uncut. I have to actually wake up early tomorrow so I won't have the edit/youtube post til tomorrow afternoon 😭

The way I’ve been refreshinggg!!!! Ugh I love you guys I cried like a baby this ep😭😭 10/10 for the Jackson war

Chrissy

I was just heartbroken. I’m not a player of the games, but I knew that it was coming. That it was so soon in the season, I could hold onto denial a bit longer, but man, I cried. A tough, tough watch. Through my tears at the end for a bit of lightheartedness I said “and oh my godddd, his beautiful face” I am still unwell

Jimmy lujan

Just finished watching sinners (it was good) can’t wait to watch this

Marcos Paulo

His brain wasn't on the floor when you played. 🔥♨️

Marcos Paulo

I've waited to watch the ending with you guys, my virtual emotional support group. 🥲

I thought Kaitlyn Dever's performance as Abby was great in this episode, I do wish she would've bulked up a bit though. It's just hard to be intimidated by someone who weighs 100 lbs. and is 1 ft. shorter than everyone else in the room.

MetalBabe Sami

If you want to cry more, the song at the end was sung by Ashley Johnson, who was the actress who voiced Ellie in the video game (and played Ellie’s mom in season 1).

I thought it was an odd choice to have Abby reveal that her dad was the doctor. That was kinda the mystery of her character. I’m guessing they didn’t want the viewers to hate her as much as the video game. I mean would we not do the same to avenge our father or family member? Guessing they want sympathy for Abby from the get go.

Iriana F

I think it was a good choice of course for the actress to not get as much hate but also to me they waited to long in the game to tell us. I already hated Abby too much to sympathize or even understand her a little bit. Tackling it before as well as getting the scenes we got of her before makes me sympathize or at least understand her a bit more before who doing that terrible thing. Also in the making of they said they wanted Abby to feel a little more anti-hero they also said that they wanted the parallels between Abby and Ellie to hit more.

Man reliving this trauma this episode. I’m broken all over again. This was somehow worse..

Mel

TLOS2 is one of my favorite games and too see how worse it is in live action made me cry for 30 mins straight man🤦🏾‍♂️😭

Mel

That did in fact make me cry more like tf man whyyyyyy

Nightwing2090

So much for me thinking this was going to be a slow and filler episode. But Pascal is a busy man so there you have it.I knew what was coming but was still wrecked by it.

Marcos Paulo

Yeah, but shotgun to the knee do the job.

Gylfie

That was so true to the game but 100% better and I bawled and keep bawling every reaction I watch.

Sabrina Bookert

I’m scared… idk if I should do this before work but I also kind of need to…

Ash

Was Amy played by Shauna from the yellowjackets???

I understand Abby’s motivation for wanting to kill Joel. He killed a lot of people she likely looked up to as something akin to uncles and aunts, plus he killed her father. She says he was unarmed when he wasn’t though, he grabbed a scalpel and advanced on Joel. I’m not saying she still shouldn’t feel how she does, just pointing out that he was armed even if it was just with a scalpel. My problem with Abby has always been the sadistic way she kills Joel. When Joel attacked the hospital he didn’t torture anyone, he didn’t inflict pain on anyone just for the joy or revenge of it, he just killed them as efficiently as possible. Abby’s prolonged torture of Joel is what doesn’t sit right with me and it’s what takes her from being completely justified to being a horrible person. Had she just shot him in the head and been done with it, I’m fully on board. All that torture though…that’s sadistic and isn’t justifiable in any way, shape or form.

BRIDGECO

That’s my guess cause I didn’t give a shit even when they revealed it was her dad when playing the game 😂 so they definitely have tweaked it to allow more sympathy for her. I think they had Joel kill Eugene to cover up him finding out about Ellie’s immunity/the incident as well to add another layer to show Joel’s not perfect and has done bad things even more to help eventually sympathize with Abby more as well/go on the journey with Ellie to understand why Abby did it.

AlexandraInTX

There's possibly a sad explanation for that. She unfortunately lost her mom to breast cancer before filming started. I'm sure she had a plan to bulk up a bit, but you know...😞

I also lamented the loss of the bakery.

Marcos Paulo

I've heard this season would be shorted like a split kinda thing, maybe she'll have sometime to do it although I don't think is needed I like the changes adaptations. Also heard she was supposed to play Ellie in an earlier TLOU live action project.

Michael Ramirez

I’m broken Abby killed Joel but I’m glad they didn’t change the story

Nemo-the-Red

The introduction of Ellie was a warning to game players. "Don't pull punches."

Nemo-the-Red

I get what you mean, but I think she did great regardless. I'll just play the game to get my buff Abby. No Return is so much fun

PhatBoySteven

They did a great job of making me hate Abby again. Although i grew to like her character in the game, they just started the cycle back over for me lol.

Marcos Paulo

Yeah in the game everyone feels forced to play her and throw her off cliffs and such. 🤣

Penellope

Yeah I was mad during the episode but then I remembered Lev and just couldn't stay mad for too long after

PhatBoySteven

I wonder what point is going to be the cut off for this season. Hope we get the Lev introduction.

Westbrook Art Show

Damn this hurt in the pit of my stomach, even more than the game. The Jackson’s section was incredible as well. The ending with Tommy collapsing in Maria’s arm with Joel getting dragged back😩 he’s gonna be even more ruthless than in the game

Aly Cat

Abby was 19 when she found her dad, Ellie is 19 in this episode and had to WATCH Joel die…
