Ok this one... This one is a special experience this year. You know nothing good is gonna happen and yet it still destroys you. This is one of the best movies of the year without question, I'm still a bit in shock 😂 Enjoy our extreme sorrows. The movie list has gotten down to a few real long ones lol. I have tons of editing to get to already but we plan to get HUNGER GAMES and FRANKENSTEIN watched this week, plus WELCOME TO DERRY then we'll be diving into ATTACK ON TITAN SEASON 4 by sometime next week!

As someone who read this in middle school, seeing this adapted definitely wasn't on my bingo card, but I'm glad they did 🤘🤘

This movie is an experience. I cried, hard watching this. An amazing movie. I watched Frankenstein this past weekend, visually stunning, a gorgeous movie and Jacob Elordi was fantastic. Can’t wait to watch it with you.

I thought I would enjoy this how I enjoyed Hunger Games, but this CRUSHED ME in the theaters. My husband asked if we needed to leave during Hank’s scene😭 All the young men in this movie have such bright futures!

Kenneth Ahluk

In the book Ray does win, but he just keeps walking. He sees some figure as he continues. Thought the movie version was definitely better, but still depressing 😭

Chrissy Lewis

This movie is the only one that’s ever made me feel dread. It’s beautiful.

Harkness broke his ankle the night before when they were going up the hill. I bawled again rewatching this with you

This is the second Stephen King book adapted into a movie where the ending being changed was better than the book ending.

HUGE mistake going to see this in the theater. Took my niece with me and we were both crying so hard.... I mean, losing your breath kinda blubbering lololol. And I'm the person that everyone says has "a cold, dead heart" because I almost never cry. We ran out of napkins, blowing our noses, well before the end. First time I've ever had to make a tissue run to the restroom because of all the tears and nose blowing. Screwed up thing is, I cried just as much rewatching it with y'all 🤦🏻‍♀️ This movie was too damn good!

He was never able to give arts necklace to his grandma 😔 movie makes me cry every single time dude

I think Hank was saying "I did it wrong" because he tried to end it quickly by grabbing the gun but instead got shot in the legs and had to slowly bleed out

The Long Walk PRAISE: Right out the gate I'm going to say The Long Walk is the best screen adaptation of a Stephen King story since 1994's The Shawshank Redemption. The story is about a dystopian near-future America where one hundred teenage boys participate in a brutal annual contest, the Long Walk. The acting is off the charts great. The gentleman in the film: Cooper Hoffman as Raymond Garraty / #47 David Jonsson as Peter McVries / #23 Garrett Wareing as Stebbins / #38 Tut Nyuot as Arthur Baker / #6 Charlie Plummer as Gary Barkovitch / #5 Ben Wang as Hank Olson / #46 turn in such great performances. I immediately felt like I knew them as they go on this long walk, their jokes, dreams ,competitiveness, their feelings about life ,love and friendship all felt so real. Its all coupled with the right amounts of tension and anger. I actually forgot about certain necessities one would need in such a long walk and when its mentioned by a few of the characters the movie becomes increasingly involving. Its also a harrowing watch as dissolution and hopelessness eats away at the psyches of the men. I couldn't help but think of The Hunger Games movies and the 1969 movie They Shoot Horses Don't They. Usually the use of captions in a film kind of annoy me but in this movie I found them to be necessary. I started thinking about my own endurance and how many miles I've walked for pleasure or when I had no other options but to walk. Sometimes the violence was jarring and its tied to me caring about the characters that are well developed for the most part. When the score by Jeremiah Fraites kicks in with moments of raw emotion its perfection. I really liked what this movie had to say about true friendship. Director Francis Lawrence is so on point in many scenes pulling away from certain moments while taking in reactions from the road and small towns the men walk through. He and writer JT Mollner have crafted a moving and harrowing movie. PROBLEMS: I have some minor complaints about a couple of side characters. Scale of 1 to 10 a 9 Its one of the best movies of 2025

3 week AOT break is pain 😭

I can't believe I'm watching this again but I love you guys so here I am. This movie left me sad for days. Amazing acting

I can't help but wonder why more people didn't act like the jerk character. Only one person can survive and it's a competition. If I was there I wouldn't be a jerk but I wouldn't be asking people their names and about their life stories because it would hurt so much more when they inevitably die.

It’s such a visceral thing to see people watching this go through the same emotional decline as the movie. The easy jokes at the start just falling into silence as the sheer devastating truths set in. This reaction is what got me on the patreon, and I’m so glad. This movie is so heartbreaking and hurts but for some reason I can’t stop revisiting it. A lot of moments broke me but I don’t think anything hurts as bad for me as Parker’s death chant and Ray’s mom screaming “it’s ok”. That one line delivered the way it is is such a stab in the gut because she knew in that moment she’d never see him again. Deep down she already knew. Her son is like her husband, she may not know how, but she knows he’ll die trying to do better for others (and he did in sacrificing himself). She wanted him to die knowing she didn’t blame him.

Lauren Jernigan

The fireworks and singing as Pete tries to understand what just happened is a masterclass in storytelling reflecting the real world. King wrote this about kids being shipped off to Vietnam- and the callous ways we look away from the suffering they went through. This change in ending puts a mirror to our faces of how heartless we can be when bringing soldiers home with fireworks parades and songs when they have witnessed utter horror and pain.

The range of emotions I went through when I watched this in theaters. My heart shattered so many times…whew! As I watched this reaction, I was right there crying again with you guys. What performances by these actors! Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson were fantastic! Now I also need to read the book.

Guy Frankenstein

I didn't have anyone that wanted to watch this with me, so I watched it here for the first time, and jesus, I'm glad I wasn't sitting here "alone" with this one. Fucking depressing.
