Death note post L is just not the same. Still a fun watch tho

If you're still gonna react to Robocop, please make sure to watch the director's cut. Also, when Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come is available to stream, I'd love to see you do a rewatch reaction to the first movie

The name light is more so pronounced "Rai-to" in japan but even then its still weird but thats on purpose, the author of death note made the names purposely weird to not make them too similar to real names of people reading the manga. This doesnt apply to everyone though and for some reason its used alot with english names. thats why mello and near have odd ones they arent actually japanese. Itd be pretty morbid to be reading and then see your name on a list of kiras victims or see that your got the same name as kira. And all the names have thematic elements to them but there's some spoilers so i cant say them yet. But with alot of words in japan its more so the use of kanji and characters that determine the meaning of a word. For example yagami is areal name but the way they spell it in the show uses kanji that means "moon god" and most people in japan see that as cringe manga shit. Its like someone naming their kid bruce if they have the last name wayne

Bro light hating his "married" life is killing him bro looks like hes miserable everytime misa is near him 33:47 why does light just stand in front of mirrors with pens like hes some dumbkid who just got his first gun? hes so corny

The show definitely takes a little turn here, but I still enjoy it. It's fun to see the character dynamic!

I've never watched Death Note past episode 28. So we'll be watching the rest of the series for the first time with you

40:59, 44:21 — I used to think Near is just terrible at darts. Many years later, I now believe he is "assigning numbers" for a darts game called Killer. Pregame involves each player using their non-dominant hand to determine their target number. Eventually, the goal will be to eliminate opponents by landing a dart on their target number (three separate times). Before elimination rounds can start, the player must first "become a killer" by hitting their own target number (or its double) three times. Am I reaching? It seems too apt not to be a deliberate reference to Killer.

I want to note something that people tend to forget or not realize, Both Near and Mello found out about the death notes on their own. When Watari died, he erased all of L's notes and data so the two of them had to figure it out themselves which shows how intelligent they are.

I'm unsure if this is too early to say this or not. But I feel like.. not. I always found Near and Mello to be the two sides of L. One side, Near is the analytical and cold investigative side. He shares Near's posture as well. And love of puzzles. Mello is L's more aggressive and determined side to win no matter what. Much like when L locked up Light and Misa, he'll go to any lengths to win. But this time against Near. He also enjoys sweets much like L. They are the split of L himself. At the Same time they clearly represent the rivalry between Light and L themselves. Making them pretty interesting characters

Adam Block

The funny thing is. While Light is a sociopath true. L and Near both show really big signs of Psychopathy. From the genius intellect and their lack of emotional understanding as well. Unable to relate to human feelings for the most part. They're just high functioning and overall not dangerous
