MORE STAR WARS?! Not quite... This was a super fun time 😂 I loved this movie as a kid and it was great to relive it with a few more reference understanding lol and for Bridgette to see it for the first time! Ready for that 40 year later sequel 😂 We'll be back with the STAR WARS prequels before you know it!

Just the other day, I’ll let my 15 year-old son watch this. I thought it was hilarious. We love Star Wars so when number two comes out, we can go watch that one too. I’ve watched this multiple times. It’s so funny.

I do love Spaceballs. Glad we are getting a sequel, and getting more Rick Moranis as well! I will admit I think Robin Hood: Men in TIghts is a slightly better film personally, and well worth watching. But it is dependent on you having seen Robin Hood Prince of thieves at least to appreciate it the most (and maybe the old 30s Robin Hood as a bonus, but not necessary).

I do agree Robin Hood Menin Tights is better but you gotta watch Kevin Costner's Robin Hood to really appreciate the humor of it 😅 one of my favs for sure!

So there is actually a bigger joke about the merchandise Mel Brooks only got permission to parody Star Wars if they didn’t sell ANY merchandise for the movie so back then not a single one of those pieces of merch was actually available 😂😂😂

Something i just noticed, when dark helmet throws the ring in the drain and lonestar gets up and turns around. You can clearly see the face of the stunt double staring at you. Lol they dont even try to hide the fact they switched the double for something that wasnt even a stunt. XD

I think Bridgette is maybe referring to when Mike Myers played that British Colonel in Inglorious Bastards?? Especially with that mustache. Looked a lot like Mels president character in Spaceballs. Just a hunch.

Throw a dart at any Mel Brooks film and you’re going to have a good time. A favorite of mine is Young Frankenstein.

Most of the actors have signed on for the sequel (John Candy - Barf will unfortunately not be on as he passed away, but they cast Josh Gad which I think is a great choice).

When they say “initiate Kafka” the mean the “metamorphosis” of the ship Into the maid. It’s a very high brow joke, about the story of the Metamorphosis written by Franz Kafka - where a man turns into an insect. (That’s the basic premise)
