The truths come out. Cover ups. Embarrassment. Threats. Human error. This show was amazing. Depressing obviously but amazing. Things like Chernobyl I find to be the most fascinating and terrifying parts of humanity... I truly believe humans may accidentally lead to our own demise eventually. Oooof. More joyful reacts coming <3 THE VAMPIRE LESTAT, FROM and HOUSE OF THE DRAGONS will be in the works when we're back home! Thanks for coming on this tough journey with us.

Still can't believe the main actor was the antagonist from Mr Deeds 🤣

PapaXan

This reaction coming in hotter than an RBMK reactor with all it's control rods withdrawn!

The one thing that’s highly frustrating is that the show turned Dyatlov into a cartoon villain. In reality yes, he was a hardass who people feared, but he also spent his dying years defending the plant workers. He didn’t blame them. He’d also been in a nuclear accident before on a submarine and it resulted in the death of his son, he really DID know a lot about nuclear energy. But like the others he didn’t know about the graphite tips. Like the other workers he was under pressure from higher ups who insisted things be done. He wasn’t faultless but he also wasn’t the villain.

BRIDGECO

Yeah it was definitely a systematic failure overall but they for sure made me hate him in this show lol

Lauren Jernigan

Fun fact the little bug on Boris’ pant leg and resulting line wasn’t scripted!

Kubochaan

I just watched Forbidden Fruits and I immediately want to rewatch! hope you guys check it out

FedeM

excited for from and lestat

Something cool about this show is the soundtrack was created by using sounds from an actual nuclear reactor. If you go back and listen, you can hear it. It’s so fascinating and haunting. The composer is Hildur Guðnadóttir. She did amazing on the soundtrack.

PapaXan

I took it as 'an explosive comment' so no worries, lol.

8:19 👀 *laughs awkwardly* guys.. should maybe start paying attention to your own news 😀 wouldn’t want you to end up in k*lled lmfao stay safe we need the reactions 🤭 great reaction as usual!

Dark Harvest

Months after the Ukraine conflict started Russia bombed the Chernobyl containment unit in Ukraine. The stupidity is staggering.

MamaSeesa

Did ya'll notice Roose Bolton? Love that actor's voice.

Cristabel

Love this. Life is beautiful, some of us don’t really feel this until we face death.

Cristabel

This series is a masterpiece, esp this last episode. The bravery of Valery and the scientists is very inspiring. It’s a warning—we can only lie and ignore truth for so long before the costs of those lies have to be faced. But we seem doomed to repeat this cycle of lies and stupidity and ego and self-interest over and over and over, never learning the lesson.

lexis

iron lung reaction anytime soon ?

Guys, if you want to catch up with current events regarding Chernobyl then I highly recommend this documentary on YouTube https://youtu.be/9UHBPKrxIOQ?si=Iy6nKXA0QJmWQ-1u in it the presenter goes and spends a week inside Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and gets access to the power plant - control room 4 and see’s what’s left of the core. He also tours Pripyat as well as meeting with people who experienced the disaster firsthand. Worth spending an hour watching.

Goldyz

sagging on helicopter blades like that is normal, they're made to flex

Jay Balderson

I just watched this recently and completely agree, really interesting documentary.

fendy

They built the first containment structure much earlier but it was failing, so they built a new one that covered everything. Unfortunately it was damaged by a russian drone. The divers sure have hard working guardian angels. Ananenko, the first to volunteer in the series, recently survived a strike on his house in Kyiv. Thanks for the reaction!

Lab

Thanks for watching! Did you guys watch Haunting of Hill House yet? Also a short show but super good super cinematic too

Ste Rawlings

Love the knock off Mickey Mouse being used to symbolise the inferior reactor models so much.

Bookwormy

that is an amazing serie

Targary

theres a horror movie called Chernobyl diairies its fun

PJB

Tough, but important to watch, so thanks for persevering. Lies, lies and more lies coming from the government. How much has really changed?

LadyNightingGaleofMilvania

After this you guys should totally watch The Days (subbed). It's about the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear thing!

Travis Akin

Ahhhh, okay, I thought he looked familiar!

Luca Luca

In case anyone haven't told you yet, the show have a podcast on YT where the show creator talked about each eps, most importantly about things that are based on facts/witnesses, and things that are made as dramatic purposes. Highly informative.

the russian army took chernobyl in the begining of the war and started building trenches and defencive structures in the area and then the soldiers started feeling ill, so they just withdrew from the entire area. The russian goverment never informed the army about the radioactivnes in the area just that they shouldent temper with the building and keep it running. What i have gathered is that russia never officialy aknowledged the chernobyl incident when it formed and never teach it in school or even mentioning it anywhere in there history books. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capture_of_Chernobyl

Dark Harvest

I vaguely remember that, I'd forgotten they sent people there because I didn't hear about them again.

LunaNoctis

Been waiting and hoping for FROM, can't wait, excited to see that it's in the schedule! :)

The actual toll is likely close to 1 million, over 40 years since the disaster. Many affected would die of heart problems, which were always recorded as natural causes, but we know several of the materials that were released as contaminants build up in the cardiovascular system and cause these same type of deaths.

James Skelton

Some of the trial is on YouTube the casting was spot on. Its in Russian. Any Russian speaker in the crowd want to watch and see what he really said?
