Super Boxing Day: Mid-July Update (Patreon)
Content
This is the last update before the release of Super Boxing Day! We have uploaded a build of basically the full game to Steam. There is still some bugs to fix and final things to refine, but all of the major features are now in place.
To make sure that the game is approved by Steam's mods in time, we've pushed the release back to August 6th. But the good news is that if you already have access to the beta, you should be able to access the latest build, which adds in the Story Mode and some of the other features. (Just a warning: You may encounter game-breaking bugs or other unexpected behavior that affects progress. To reduce the chance of issues, the first after downloading the new update, choose "NEW GAME" instead of "CONTINUE".)
What's new since the beta?
Story Mode
We've finally got a working version of Story Mode up and running. Story Mode adds a visual novel with meaningful choices in between the boxing match. The plot is that April is hosting the tournament, but what begins as a fun hangout soon sours as April starts demanding more and more violence. You can decide whether to be her loyal enforcer or whether to rebel against her.
Improved Animations and Flow
In both Arcade and Story Modes, we added some new animations to the fights to make things more dramatic. There's now a short pre-fight animation, a new knockout animation, an expanded sex animation, and expanded animations for when each opponent gets knocked down.
Difficulty Settings
The audience for our games is growing, and different people want different things. We've added some options to customize how the game works.
One of the things that's been on our list for a while is difficulty settings. There's now an option to turn on easy mode (where your punches are stronger and you can Super Focus as long as you want to slow down time). Normal mode is what the game was at before. Hard mode increases the power of enemies and removes Super Focus. It's similar to old-school Punch-Out!
Content Settings
We also added options to toggle what type of content you see during the game. Previously, there was a toggle to turn blood on or off in the settings, but it didn't do anything. We've now expanded it so that it shows different animations based on preferences. Unless we messed up, Friendly Mode is SFW, so if anyone asks about the game in your Steam library and you want to say "I only play it for the gameplay...", you now have plausible deniability.

Final Round?
The game releases August 6th, but that's not necessarily the end of it. There will almost certainly be at least 1 post-launch patch in order to do things like adjust the difficulty based on feedback... and if the game sells well, we would consider more expansive free content updates.
But also look out here for updates about our next project. We will be putting polls up soon to see what everyone's interest in...
