SHE DID WHAT???

Jailbreak rapidly approaches…

Jeal Tar

Excited to see your reaction to that scene in Jail Break

Nuk Limpear

I don't think we talk about Greg's artistic skills enough, that album cover looked SICK!

A Magic Duck

I’m soooo ready for Jailbreak. I’m shocked she hasn’t figured it out yet. It seems so obvious in hindsight.

Alex S F

It's important to keep in mind that Garnet said she could really only see possibilities, so she there is a "blind" spot to her future vision: Knowledge. She doesn't know how has the technology advanced in Homeworld since she has been on Earth, so there is no way for her future vision to show her weapons that she is not aware exist.

Albedo12

Sat down to watch these with a BIG smile on my face. We're really in it now!

Rowan

I'm very excited for both the penultimate episode of season one AND the finale. In my opinion they're both just as good as each other. I know you're gonna love them. Season one just hits different to me even after seeing the whole series, the tension that's built up is so deep.

Jeal Tar

Oh for sure I imagine she was kicking herself when she had all the info needed but for some reason never put it all together.

Kayla Wolf

Can't wait for Saturday

Someday Sera

It's a little moment in political power, but "when will it be fixed?" "sometime between tomorrow, and never!" *slams door and walks off* May be the funniest thing pearl has ever done.

Someday Sera

there is a much later filler episode that explains this blind spot in depth, and it's both hilarious, and fascinating, it's such a good way to keep future vision from being overpowered.

notatortoise

Note to self: I've thought of a great [awful] pun but it has to wait until after jailbreak because spoilers.

Albedo12

Love Pearl. I don't agree with Mayor Dewey very often, but he's right about her.

Martin E Melcher

Oh it's gonna be fun! She'll lose her mind when garnet explodes and takes the planet with her. Bold choice of the creators to keep the other seasons just stars where the earth used to be

TotalWr3ck

i don’t think lapis meant to let steven fall to his doom after she left i don’t think she knew like oh this thing could die

Alex

Can't wait for The Return and Jailbreak. When Pearl returns to the big doughnut and robs it. Then Steven, Garnet, Amethyst and Onion try to post her bail in Jailbreak.

Albedo12

Greg's a talented guy, but not a space alien with superpowers, so it's easy to overlook him.

Noire Queen

It’s about to go down 😆😆

LikeCat

Okay so Saturday will be the Season 1 finale of SU from you. Not to meantion the first day of winter break in school. On the reaction front I cannot be more full. You with SU, Elijah with RWBY AND Morgan with DW (Doctor Who). And it isn't even Christmas day.

Nicrocon

I think it's really cool how in both these episodes, the credits' music is interrupted by the static from "The Message". The end credits of "The Message" start out normal, but the music suddenly cuts out and becomes static, and the end credits for "Political Power" is just the static progressively getting louder. I think this is the static from the TV after Lapis' message ends. It gives a haunting feeling of being left with Lapis' final words and the lingering white noise.

Yhelta

Something interesting in the credits of The Message involving sound...

Elias Cristerna

28:31 Oh that's neat that you talked to Maddie's VA. Didn't she also play Suvi from Mass Effect: Andromeda? Liked her in that.

Chet Bliese

There is not an Armada coming

PinkPonytail _Girl

Man she is gonna love jailbreak. One would say that episode is made of love. 🫶

Sanmei

The static is also present in the outro of The Return, but there's a little of something else that sneaks through it. However, this version of the outro was never aired on television, so many people never got to witness it until much later.

Link Chowschne

Haven't watched yet, so excited to! I just came out as NB to my friends, family, and work. This is the best coming out gift EVER <3

deny

keep in mind that as much as hype jailbreak is gonna be... the show WILL be getting EVEN better so u dont have to worry

deny

garnet has to look into something to see its future, if she doesnt know what to look for she wont see it or there will be thousands of posibilities

Arianod

This is gonna be GOOD 😋

dannyzee123

O my god, you said something that you don't even know how appropriate your choice of words is! It's hilarious! But I can't tell you what it was, because it would definitely be a spoiler. But fellow viewers, you guys know!

Tricimir *

Garnet's Future vision has the limitation that she needs to understand the possibilities to know what's probable. If she doesn't know what to look for or she's specifically looking for the wrong thing then there are too many possibilities for her to narrow down. Rather than actually "seeing the future" maybe think of it like a computer program that's really, really good at making predictions. The predictions are only as accurate as the data you put into it. Garnet's future vision is effected by her own preceptions and assumptions.

Tricimir *

Yeah, I think it's more like... what do you think would have happened if that had been Garnet, Amethyst, or Pearl taking that fall. Do you think any of them would have a serious chance of being hurt from it? Lapis thinks of Steven as a gem.

Film Vagabond

It's unfortunate that it takes almost 5 seasons to clarify that & Garent is more interesting when nuanced, rather than an omnipotent god

Porpoise Power

Flangers are used to direct audio into two separate channels, usually involving some sort of loop, it can make stuff sound a bit siren-ish... basically everything Greg was talking about would make the wailing stone sound worse instead isolating and cleaning up the signal. (or course it having video mixed in was the real problem but...)

Porpoise Power

Note it's been a couple decades since I messed with effects pedals, so I might be thinking of a phaser.

Porpoise Power

yeah I got it backwards... "A flanger works by mixing two identical audio signals together, with one of the signals playing at a slightly slower speed. This creates the effect of two tape recordings playing simultaneously, but with one tape player going slightly slower than the other. Because one of the playback speeds is slower, the distance between the two “recordings” will continue to increase, which can create a swooshing effect similar to a spinning fan blade or even a jet engine" (From a master class page I'd source it, but I think the last time I left a link my post got flagged).

Willow Arkan

you know the reason onion is so small, is that if he were any bigger he'd be unstoppable =)

Arianod

All I want for Christmas is Mosco reacting to The Return and Jailbreak 😋😋😋

Arianod

Also, don't worry Mosco: the level of bullshit going on is definitely *not* Hiroshima.

Arianod

To be 100% fair, there's a good reason for her not to have figured it out. The Crewniverse were all but cheating.

Someday Sera

according to trello she's already recorded it, and plans to upload it saturday, so you might just get your wish, even if something else randomly drops like last week (and sinsmas is probably coming soon)

SweetCandle

Me and Mayor Dewey have similar tastes, I guess...

CaptainChar

You are not ready for what lies ahead

Panic Blitz

There is nothing more ominous than a musicless outro to a show. Steven Universe, Owl House, Amphibia, Gravity Falls and I’m sure many others have used that trope and it’s great every time it happens.

Dinker

Steven's transition from star child to interstellar terrorist then to smuggler to a rock god and then to a sparkling unicorn rainbow princess is a wild ride. You're going to lose your mind when you see everything coming together and falling into place.

Someday Sera

For those who don't know, mayor dewey is, somewhat inexplicably, voiced my Joel Hodgson, the creator and first host of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Gab Gab

Oh don't worry. Peridot just wants to have a friendly little chat <3

Verdant Crown

What's coming is hands down the biggest threat they've faced so far

Liam Gradwell

Oh yeah. I can imagine Elijah is just gagging for the Jail Break reaction. Like you said Mosco. Shit’s about to really hit the fan. 🤣💜

tom david johansen

might be vice to watch it with Elijah, for support on some scenes in the next 2 :3

Bruna G

*braggadocious?

Bruna G

I am SO excited for the season finale 🤩!

Stellar Kruize

Suddenly, when the Crystal Gems are beaten down with all hope seemingly lost, off in the distance they hear the bagpipes of war beyond the horizon. Marching over the distant hill comes a Cairngorm gem ready to swing her claymore to save the Crystal Gems!

Alp

It's subtle so I don't blame you for missing it, but through the entire series... there's been hints that Steven is indeed a robot. And the rest of the series is Greg trying to connect with his robot son. 😔 Whose brain is the internet 😔😔😔 Also a will-they-won't-they romance arc with Mayor Dewey and Pearl so GET READY FOR THAT

WolfieOo

So I know you did a post about the sound issues you had while recording these. But I swear, I thought you were miming in the first part of the video I couldn't hear a thing. Hope you figure it out one way or another! With how Garnet described her future vision, as a river that spreads out and branches, and she tries to find the one that will most likely happen, she probably is seeing 'too much' because there are so many other folks' decisions involved. Who's getting sent, what do they do, where do they go, do they ask for help, do they go solo, etc. And you can surprise her, because SHE's the one trying to think of what is most likely. So she does have biases. Kind of like when you know someone, and get a feeling they would react this way or that way during a situation? It's like that. Not nearly as useful as first seems.

Rando_mIndividual

Oh my god, she isn’t READY for the donut shop scene! I swear, I always tear up when Dewey gives Pearl that whole confession speech- AND THEN SHE ACTUALLY EATS THE DONUT HE GIVES HER! It’s such character development that she eats for the first time in that moment just for him, lovely couple goals 💕💕

Porpoise Power

Mosco don't read this.... prediction of Mosco's reaction to jailbreak. "... such a feckin' idiot"

LikeCat

Would be pretty accurate. Altho to our credit, it is pretty obvious in hign-signt.

Demi

Yes that was insinuating that she hotwired cars in the past, but I think it was a double layered joke because the Voice Actor for Amethyst did some work for Grand Theft Auto V back in 2013.

Sally

I can't wait to she discovering that everything we are seeing is actually a future vision from Garnet seconds before Rose gave birth to Steven. I'll never forget: "He's gonna be great"

Wisteria

I think the silliness at the end of the first episode is a demonstration of Steven still kind of being a kid that can’t take in the gravity of that news like the adults do

Flo K

sapphire is indeed sapphic as you found out lol

Hulk Lover

I think Dewey's main problem is that his lie gave them a deadline. If he had just said "soon" they wouldn't be rioting as hard

Judibee

Agreed! This episode showed some of the first instances of real maturity and growth in Steven.

Judibee

I didn’t know that! That’s hilarious

Penellope

Is the audio really low for anyone else? Even in max I can't hear some stuff sometimes

Kelvin James Landon

The part where Steven was told he needs to wear the same shirt for a while literally left me dumbfounded and speechless.

Ferret

I remember when people started proposing the theory back when S1 was airing, and getting shot down as ridiculous.
