Luis Guzman's casting as Gomez is inspiring, as he matches the original drawings of the character more than John Astin, Raul Julia, and Tim Curry did. All 3 did a great job, but Guzman does a great job and looks like the original character. I also think when Ajax asked Enid "How long have we been broken up?" it was a question because he had never been told that they were broken up. There had been little things he was seeing over the last 3 episodes, but he was never sure until he asked the question and she told him.

I think Guzman is a slightly different take on Gomez that works amazingly. I am unsure how I feel about the entire family being stars in Wednesday as I think he worked better in season 1 only being used sparingly. I just love how wholesome and excited he is with his kids and family while still being a guy who probably gets the cops called on him a lot. Best way I can describe it. I think part of why I like the change is that the Addams are supposed to not fit in and be the family everyone gossips about and while the suave personality was eccentric i dont think itll set as many people alarms up.

Yeah I think Enid should've said something to Snake Boy too instead of moving onto what's his face, I get it though I am not a confrontational person either (its the reason I am single...well that and I'm ace and aro) I do like how you are partial sometimes people ship Enid and Wednesday so hard they are yelling at snake boy to get off the screen and foaming at the mouth. You are more grounded.

Just to clear it up, Ajax said "how long were we broken up" becuase no one told him they were broken up but apparently they did because shes dating someone else.

Enid certainly should have handled the breakup better. Ajax deserved a heads-up instead of her just moving on. That said, I did find the little comment Ajax made kinda creepy. Enid saying she was once insecure and unsure of herself, and him pouncing at the opportunity to say he liked that version of her. He probably meant that he liked her when she was still learning to like herself, but it tripped red flags for me. There's people out there who have little to nothing to offer others. So they find someone inexperienced and naive who doesn't know much of the world, and then try to make themselves that person's world. It adds a layer to Ajax's personality that he's a Gorgon; the ability to freeze people as they are. But Enid isn't a statue (like the one of a werewolf Ajax was clinging to in episode 2), and she grew away from his vision of her. Hopefully he can move on in a healthy manner. I didn't think I'd like Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams as much as I do, but it's a fun take on the character. Still a passionate loving husband. Still ever supportive of his kids. He's just not as suave as Raul Julia or energetic as John Astin. This version is kind of a slightly creepy but cuddly papa bear.

While I like Catherine as Morticia, Luis is amazing as Gomez. He has these really subtle moments of humor that I absolutely adore. And he really sells that he loves his family and wants to support them in everything. I still think Weds should tell Enid. Like, yeah, she'd freak but then at least she'd be more aware to, you know, keep an eye out. She is a werewolf, after all, she's not fragile. That being said, the rivalry between Enid and Agnes is freakin funny. Enid is really jealous beefing with a 13 year old and Agnes is just here for the giggles. Morticia's camping outfit with the little umbrella is a look. Also their tent! Catherine really had to bring out her Zorro training for this one. Free Bianca!!!!

♪Ohhhhhhh.... Dog's got to bark, a mule's got to bray, Soldiers must fight, and preachers must pray, And children, I guess, must get their own way The minute that you say "no!"♫

Mosco would make such a good mom someday. Emotionally intelligent and willing to help you hide the body. Everything a child could ask for. "I don't trust him/her/it/them!" Please, Mosco, my liver can barely survive your RWBY reactions! I can't play that drinking game with your WNSDY reactions, too! A cliffhanger, you say? I wonder how many shows had to end with a character dangling off a cliff for the etymology to set in?

In Charles Addams's original cartoons (1938), Gomez had a somewhat grotesque appearance, with a tubby body, a snub nose, a crooked tooth, and a receding chin. So the current portrayal in Wednesday is actually closer to the real old "old school" version of the character. Addams had stated that Gomez's look was somewhat based on NY Governor & failed Presidential candidate Thomas E Dewey - look them up https://www.tumblr.com/baronvonkrieger/694137204936769536/how-hispanic-are-the-addams-family Addams sometimes hinted that Morticia & Gomez were not actually married. Most of the charm that later actors portrayed was based on John Astin's original 1962 TV performance which recreated & fleshed out the character. The Addams response to family situations is always going to be what "regular" people consider odd, strange or just plain wrong. That's the point of the Addams Family. Morticia cuts the heads off roses to make the thorns grow longer. Gomez shares his cigars with Pugsley. Parenting advice? Do the opposite! Run!

While the narrative is still focused around Wednesday, I love that the rest of the Addams Family are more prevalent this season.

24:10 my mom pointed this out while we were watching this episode, “..[we don’t have Avian PATIENTS at Willow Hill]”. I honestly wouldn’t have noticed the wording if she hadn’t brought this to attention. Might be nothing, tho. Just thought it was interesting

the new female sheriff was in s1 too as a police officer

Cliffhangers have been a thing before radio. Writers, even big names like Dickens and Dumas, sold their works in snippets. And, of course, wanted to make the customers need to find out more, so left the stories with situations like a pivotal character in peril.
