The little warp on Pyrrha's weapons was Emerald applying her hallucination semblance as was Pyrrha seeing so many of Penny's swords. Pyrrha's activation of her metal controlling semblance is the black out line. These are some of the best episodes of (early) RWBY, welcome to the beginning of the end, I hope you survive the experience!

Yeah I agree with a lot of people that you should indeed keep Elijah with you for the final episodes just so that she can be your emotional support because vol 3 without spoiling ofc is a amazing volume no doubt but it's a toughy

I don't know if this is the intention but I always felt Adam's character allusions are multiple different parts of the Beauty and the Beast story. The rose is part that (i.e. the curse) but he's also Gaston and Prince Adam/Beast (had the curse not been lifted). Blake is obviously Belle, but also a little bit of the Beast too. Other characters also have a little bit of Beauty and the Beast in their allusions even though that's not their main allusion but I don't want to spoil anything by going into detail.

The beauty and the beast references got all intermingled. Blake is both Belle AND the Beast but the best sides of the beast. Adam is a little more complicated but is the Beast AND Gaston and also the rose as to an extent hes the cause of Blake/beast's "curse"

Ep 9: RIP Penny. Turned into quarters way too soon. You will be missed. (Leave me alone! This is how I cope!) Also, she was an android with a soul, and she just died... so... The camera work for the PvP fight was actually so good though. Absolutely wild. And then having Em make Pyrrha see all those swords so that she'd over correct with her rebuttal and for sure take Penny out. Clever. Painful but clever. As much as he’s causing problems, I’m glad Roman’s back. He’s a fun villain to juxtapose against Cinder and Adam and all the horror that’s happening. Him and Neo both. This is what the train plan was originally going to be for before RWBY and Oobleck made them move the plan. Either way it worked though, because Beacon being breached just made the citizens more agitated and quick to give into panic when everything went down in these episodes. Ep 10: AKA the episode where everyone poses like a team. That long one take where the camera zooms through the battle and then goes up the building to reveal Cinder and her crew is so good man. We’ve already come so far with the animation! The community has affectionately given the dragon (wyvern) the name Kevin. Don’t ask me why. It’s just what it was by the time I entered the fandom. Love Weiss fighting Atlas Drones while Blake fights the White Fang.

Mosco picks up on some of the smallest details in such an impressive manner, but then Emerald pulls the same illusion trick they just did on Yang in the most obvious way (showing Emerald multiple times, showing the 1000s of blades from Pyrrha’s perspective and then showing there are only 6 from Penny’s) and it’s missed. Wild.

Just as a note, it was established in vol 2 that Penny *is* a real girl, just one that was made instead of born, she has an Aura, a soul, and emotions just like regular humans, Ruby says as much "you think just because you've got nuts and bolts instead of squishy guts makes you any less real than me?"

The train incident was supposed to coincide with the attack on beacon. It would have created an access point for the grimm right in the middle of the city while all the other panic and confusion was going on, to make it harder to gain control of. Since Ruby found Torchwick, he decided to pull the trigger early and start the attack before it could be stopped; which is what lead to the ending of v2. Which is why Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury were so surprised he was starting the attack early; and why they had to help clean up the grimm as part of maintaining their cover.

I get the dislike of sending civilians into the sky when it's not fully under control, but I think you forgot that Amity Arena is, itself, in the sky. It's a collection of bad options and James said, get people in smaller targets and get them off the isolated structure that is not under control. "I like the show when you weren't in it. Can you just go crawl back into a hole?" Now, now, don't keep it in. Tell us how you really feel about him. It is a good plan, but if it helps you any. It wasn't Cinder's plan. That helps, right? :p And say hi to Kevin the Dragon Grimm. He's friendly, likes meeting new people, and is thrilled to bring the roof down at any party. Bigger and more 'spiked' Grimm are older and thus 'smarter' and certainly a /lot/ more dangerous.

I think it depends on the reasoning, though it mostly comes down to people who care way to much about minute details. In my personal opinion yeah, Kevin's a wyvern but a wyvern is a classification of dragon so both are correct to use. It would be like getting mad at someone for calling a husky a dog. Lke, dude, a husky is a breed of dog. But that's just how I see it and it tends to not cause problems.

unless there is some CRWBY lore I haven't heard, I'm not sure that's accurate... I always had the impression that the train incident was meant to force Ironwood to get more involved just in time for the Vytal Festival, thus creating the conditions needed that Cinder outlines - and the androids being hacked. I could be mistaken, but I always assumed it was just to lay the groundwork for what unfolds in v3.

(Taken from the World of RWBY Companion guide p124) Miles Luna: "We called Blake ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ but when you take a step back you start to wonder if Adam is really the ‘beast’ in their relationship. Then the further back you go, you start to see Adam as Gaston, as the Cursed Rose -- really Adam is just a blight on the lives of our heroes,” *Omitted the Amity Arena Card profile since I just realized how spoilery it was.* sorry about that. But to continue… Adam is supposed to be the Cursed Rose and basically the Beast as if he remained cursed forever so their roles in Blake's narrative interchange as he eventually becomes Gaston. Blake is supposed to be both Beauty AND the Beast to signify her being a Faunus with both human and animal traits.

Adam does fit far better as the "Gaston" of Blake's "Beauty and the Beast" allusion than as any level of Beast. If you listen to the music that was available up to this point, Blake was more of her own Beast (basically playing dual role).

I am strongly of the opinion that Blake has one of the most complex and dynamic allusions in the show, with multiple readings being correct simultaneously. The allusions are not set in stone but kinda fluid. I think you're both right on the money

Adam (still hate the guy with a burning passion) has multiple „roles" he is/ will take on from the Beauty and the Beast... And I think he is the only character in RWBY who does that. (Especially nice given his VERY one-sided mindset)

Iirc emerald says when the alarm is blaring "you don't think?" To which Merc replys "sure looks like it" implying that it was *suppose* to happen at a later date(we know he moved the schedule up bcz of rwby) which makes sense as it would create further panic especially as it would thin out the already stretched thin huntsmen and huntresses

I disagree that he's the only character that takes on different roles in the Beauty and the Beast allusion, but I also think it's probably not appropriate to talk about it too much at this juncture. Maybe we should come back to this discussion once Mosco has finished.

So just to clarify what everybody else is saying yes you can technically build Penny again, but you'll only have the robot and nothing more. The actual girl that was Penny is gone, she was the only one that could generate an aura AKA a soul. So yes we can build Penny again, but the girl is gone.
