Green does not suit you. -I love Anne's logic of "I saw it on YouTube, so now I'm an expert!". -Also, the little reveal that Thai is spoken in her home back in her world. -Hop Pop's a real one. We appreciate all women, but I've never understood dudes who were put off because a woman was "a lot". Ugh... the patriarchal bullshit of a woman only being appealing if she's "inexperienced"... "Bizarre Bazaar" Hop Pop has a past. He's a frog of mystery. Hope we can trust him. -Not the last Nintendo / gaming reference you'll catch in this series. -I do love Sprig's "That doesn't seem balanced." A callout on how overpowered the blue shell is. -Nothing sketchy about that. Maybe Hop Pop's trusted channels live underground. You don't know!

Family Fishing Trip: Oh Sprig, let Hop Pop find love in his later years. The cursed grin is hilariously haunted. Sylvia turning her annoyed gaze at Sprig is intimidating. By the way, Anne’s mom is voiced by one On Braly. Yep it’s Matt Braly’s mom. Put that in file 13. Bizarre Bazar: Whereas Dana Terrace made use of Pokémon references throughout TOH, Matt Braly is a Nintendo fan. Yes every Mario Kart player was triggered when The Wrecker busted out the blue shell. The Bazaar’s enforcers are likely newts or salamanders since this world doesn’t have much in the way of reptiles. “Have you ever killed a man Hop Pop?” “What happens in the Bizarre Bazaar stays in the Bizarre Bazzar.” Oh yeah HP has definitely had to shank someone. Careful Hop Pop. Trying to hide the truth can come back to bite you.

Fun fact, Anne's mom is voiced by Matt Braly's own mother, and if I recall correctly (I might not), Anne's appearance is based on old photos of his grandmother when she was young. The Bizarre Bazaar was based on Southeast Asian night markets. "I wasn't expecting to get plot in the Bizarre Bazaar episode." I know I've said this before, but: You don't realize it yet, but you've been getting bits and pieces of plot in almost every single episode so far. Fans of the show aren't exaggerating when they say Amphibia has practically no filler.
