Personal story time: The scavenger hunt episode was pretty relatable for me. When I was Anne’s age I started to compare myself to my peers and my best friend was a lot like Marcy in the intelligence department. I started to feel really stupid when I was around him and it made me really self conscious, but just like Anne I was a social butterfly compared to him and he had a LOT of anxiety when dealing with people. 30 years later and he’s still my best friend and we hang out regularly. Which is surprising since a read an article earlier this year that found that friendships only last on average 7 years before drifting apart. Which makes me value our friendship even more, I wouldn’t trade anything for it.

Fun Fact: King Andrias is based on the Chinese giant salamander, the largest living amphibian, about as long as the average person is tall! So yeah, he would be giant compared to the others. And the first part of their scientific name... is also Andrias. 🦎

Just because I haven’t seen you mention it yet, the king is actually voiced by Keith David, and the bellhop is voiced by Kristen Schaal!! (super recognizable voices I love both of these actors so much)

"Scavenger Hunt" Marcy has the smarts, But Anne is socially apt. They make a good team. -You're getting a very good look at Anne and Marcy's dynamic. Very different from what Anne has with Sasha. -I mean... In the time it took to hide these 3 messages all over Newtopia, I'd figure they could have just contacted Marcy discretely... -While Marcy was not intentionally written as autistic, she does share many of the markers with the classification. The fandom has widely accepted her as neurodivergent representation. "The Plantars Check In" Behold this land's king! Andrias Leviathan! He seems pretty chill. -King Andrias is based off the Chinese Giant Salamander, Andrias davidianus. They can reach a size of 6 meters and live upwards of 60 years. Thus the size and age of this king. -You'd think with infinite royal money Anne coul at least buy a proper pair of shoes. And yet... -Kristen Schaal as Bella the belhop! That unmistakable voice that im surprised you didn't recognize as Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls.

Your initial perception of what Marcy's character was like isn't too far off the mark. She was meant to be colder and calculating, but her voice actress made her so bubbly and warm it inspired Matt Braly and the writers to reimagine her character between seasons.

I wouldn't have noticed Masco's hair is a mess if she didn't say anything. There are advantages to having short hair. I really need to get around to having a haircut. I don't remember what my expectations were for Marcy. I'm not sure if I had any. Season 2 was well underway when I started watching, and it was the clip of frog Gruncle Stan that made up my mind about watching. That, and Hop Pop's "I don't feel safe" meme.

Scavenger Hunt: They’ll eat the cooked bugs. Gotta get their protein in somehow. Polly is a typical kid. If it’s something she’s not interested in she’s bored. A strawlrus? So Marcy is the dork and Anne is the goofball. A puzzle tour would fill me with dread. Much happier to do a trivia contest. This won’t be the last time Hop Pop does stupid things for “free” stuff. TIPS: 1. Put the option that you expect to turn up most of all right in the middle square. 2. Cover the virtual cross over that square with other of the more likely options. 3. Same thing for the St. Andreas cross-shape.

Ah, good ol' King Andrias, Peacekeeper of a Thousand Years, First of his Name. He's just a goofy guy who loves puzzles and games, *especially* Flipwart. Sure, some fans didn't trust King Andrias because of lighting and tropes, but most people didn't trust him because he's voiced by Keith David.

Since Marcy’s journal was outright mentioned in “Scavenger Hunt” I feel obligated to tell you Mosco that… Marcy’s Journal is also a real piece of merch you can buy, and in my opinion… it’s one of the Best complimentary materials of any show, ever. Although…. You will have to wait till you finish the show since the Journal does contain spoilers.

cool fact about marcy's journal, its an official book that you can buy and read through to get more details about stuff in the show, definitely dont read it till the end cause its spoilery as heck but still a really fun read

I know she's mostly known for bob's burgers now, but she used to be a regular on the daily show a decade or so again, and she was AMAZING. She's also great in flight of the conchords of course. just finished amphibia the other day, now I'm catching up with rwby, which I'd fallen way behind on. both are so good, and I've ended up liking mlp a lot more than I expected, it really reminds me of the glory days of 90's cartoon network for whatever reason. It's a good batch of shows this year, be interested to see where we go next since mosco is about done with rwby and invincible. Season 3 of HB is coming in a few weeks, but if it's still monthly episodes that won't be able to replace weekly uploads.
