Step on me mommy Agam That is now forever her name, and I love you, cause SAME!! Those arms put Korra to shame!

Taigan

Episode 9: ☝️ Episode 3: “I hate lying. It makes my ears itch.”

Omegon

I'm confused on why you thought Zi is Agam's daughter

Taigan

Elijah thought Zi was Uki’s sister. I guess she just has that vibe?

Alaïna

You said in your previous post this reaction would be painful, but honestly you got the chakras things and all, so it's okay Personally I had to watch it again to understand it, I was like "wait, is Pavi being linked to Vaatu ?" lmao Which...kinda still can be the case but yeah

Suplee215

Asuming Zi's claims of royalty were not a joke or part of pretending to be the queen so shes related to the queen and daughter fits. Certaibly not the case but I get assuming the 2nd in charge who been doing all the orders is the child of who is

Phoenix_mercury

Tbf I think Elijah just took Zi's words(calling uki sister) literally rather than metaphorically(roped into the brigade and fellow fire bender)

Nik(goggledogs)

We've been talking in the discord and decided that Jae pulled a Winter and Kayoko is going Ironwood

LikeCat

And his BF say it... maybe he will be brought into the fold after he questions Jae as to whag he was lying about (this scene)?

slavicandsapphic

I think she more so meant it would be painful abt her reactions to Agam LMFAOOO

"First we will open the Earth Chakra, located at the base of the spine. It deals with survival (the name of this book) and is blocked by fear. (The thing the Anomaly heightens/"activates" in the citizens of Ellura)" - Guru Pathik to Avatar Aang in Book 2 Chapter 19 titles The Guru I love the world-building consistensy of this world SO MUCH

Iago24

In AtLA, Guru Pathik said that the root chakra deals with survival and is blocked by fear. That's pretty much the entire deal with Ellora. They are hyperfocused on survival at the expense of everything else, and the Anomaly causes their suppressed fears to take hold and control their actions. Their fear of the Avatar is now turning the Haven against itself and threatening its own survival.

Suplee215

I think the faceless also left the city and took the avatar distraction as time to leave. Can easily see Nisha meeting up with them outside the city and being trained by Agam

BakaSama

The space Pavi is in with the Chakras reminds me a lot of when Aang was attempting to master the Avatar State in Book 3 of the OG series. And this episode is really a textbook example of how destructive fear is. To quote a certain green guru from far, far away “Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

Gihellcy

Between Mosco who's convinced Zi is Agam's daughter, and Elijah being convinced Zi is Uki's sister, that never stop being funny to me X'DDDD

Wee Lass Reacts

Yeah this was what I thought, if she was 2nd in charge in my mind I thought that meant Princess to the Queen, thus, daughter so that was my bad!

Wee Lass Reacts

Yeah I still hadnt connected the Agam part so I more meant that :')

Kyasemi

I know I've already said before in discord, but here is a list of evidence on why Jae DIDN"T actually betray us: 1. His ears itch when he lies. 2. If he didn’t jump in and had them arrested, Karthik and the others would’ve been *killed.* 3. In one of the episodes, Jae says along the lines of ‘I’ll do the right thing’ in response to Karthik who said he’d have to make the tough decisions as a white lotus member to protect the girls. 4. When Jae says ‘for the survival of Ellora’ what he is really saying is that it’s ’for the survival of the avatars.’ Right after that line, the scene immediately cuts to Pavi which is thematically genius! 5. If Jae had really *turned,* then he would’ve revealed that there are actually two avatars, not just one. But he doesn’t mention Pavi AT ALL! That’s a pretty big thing to keep hidden from Ellora and its leader, don’t ya think? 6. And remember what one of the White Lotus members said: Always bet on airbenders doing the right thing. Also I will not tolerate any Jae slander! He is one of the MOST interesting characters/JK(I AM JOKING)

Luke Teasdale

there's 4 episodes left actually also im so glad you realised that Jae is playing his part to protect the twins

WatchWithSparky

I’m glad you liked Karthik with his hair down and disheveled, I certainly did 🥵😂 I was so worried and stressed in all of this, I seriously thought my man was going to be killed, I’d never have forgiven Kayoko! Thankfully, Jae was quick and smart in his reaction, putting him in a position that’ll enable assisting them at the next drop. CANNOT wait 😭

Jared Bichler

Agam seems extremely skilled at Sandbending. A skill she no doubt picked up during her time in the Harshlands. I'm guessing having a less conventional style of bending comes in handy in her line of work.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

Agam's argument is quite a Western stance. It was my understanding that a lot of east Asian and south Asian cultures tend to have a much more collectivist approach — one that prioritizes duty to the group over personal desires ("Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"). I would have thought more of the benders would feel like Jae, rather than Uki; I guess it shows just how oppressive a burden has been placed on these benders for such a long time.

Jared Bichler

Bender lineage usually follows the parents. But it's not unheard of for a bender to be born to non-bender parents or vice versa.

Catradora fan

I think we can really trust Karthik now 😅😭

R M

One could also say that Jae is also doing 'the thing' ala Zhu Li

Jared Bichler

The Root Chakra deals with survival and is blocked by fear.

Annieme

Blood benders and sweat benders 🤭

Lonely Pancake

Does datu know that's his tell tho?? Cause he said "I'm proud of you Jae" after

LikeCat

We'll see... im just throwing stuff at the wall and see what sticks

Vex Valor

Both of Katara's parents were nonbenders. Katara is a waterbender who gave birth to an airbender (Tenzin). So they don't necessarily have to be the same type of bender as their mother.

Vex Valor

I do think benders deserve the right to choose what to do with their lives, but I would like to point out how benders being forced into service is very reminiscent of the Avatar. The Avatar doesn't get a choice. The Avatar MUST save the world or die trying. I also love the bisexual cosmos and a big fan of the headcanon that all the Avatars are bisexual. We at least have two confirmed bisexual Avatars lol

Suplee215

Theres a middle ground here that could have avoided it. Its nkt unreasonable to think the city does need help to survive in the post apclopyse world. But full on conscription, especially of only a select number, is not going work. Ideally you make a reserve system. All benders get trained is Using their bending because that is needed but have the option of joining full time or not. Maybe even a year or two if mandatory community service for the entire city and not just benders to help ease the load and stuff. It also should be noted that Uki's dream job was being a farmer. Thats certainly a job that helps the community.
