I was NOT expecting this! If you do any more polls here for recommendations, I recommend you a Max original show called Scavenger's Reign.

Thank you for letting me know that this show was out! Judging by your facial expression I’m guessing this is already better than the movie? I read these books in high school because I’m an ancient history nerd, and they ended up helping me get an amazing grade in a mythology class!

I'd never heard of this before. Should one watch the sea of monsters and/or the lightning thief first? Or does it work to just dive into the olympians?

Poet

The books hold up and have great LGBTQIA representation in the later series

Phoenix_mercury

you should be able to dive in as unlike the films this is staying faithful to the books

I’ve never read the books but my wife teaches middle school history and English and is a huge fan. I’ve been meaning to read them myself. Once the show is done I’ll have to give them a read. So far I’m enjoying myself with the show.

I’m a huge fan of the books. I’ve read of all five books then the whole book series of the hoa series. This tv series is very good so far and I also like how semi different it is from the books. Can’t wait for more episodes

Fun fact, the joke about Sally loving Jesus is extra funny because Jesus canonically exists in the Riordanverse. The Norse use CE over AD specifically because Thor thinks he's a pussy.

Assuming you're being serious, Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters are terrible film adaptations of the first two books in the series (which is officially five long, but has a second five book series as a sequel and a bunch of spinoffs). This is a separate adaptation starting with the first book.

David Johnson

Google says Walker Scobell is 14...and given production times, may have been 13 here. From the trailer, I always saw Annabeth as taller, the teenage girl who towered over the teenage boys who hadn't had their growth spurt yet. But I can work with this. Technically, he *did* push her in the fountain...he just didn't touch her to do it. Definitely a lot better than the movie, though it's been enough years I don't remember all the details of the books.

Carabas

It's a new adaptation of the first book, and not connected to any of the movies.

This version of Gabe *seems* a lot more comedic relief than real seriously very bad, I remember how his story in the books went, I've got my eyes peeled at him
