Hey everyone, Austin here!

It's time for another Live at the Table Poll! All of the games from last time that we didn't play are still on the list, plus a new one.

The current plan is to play this Sunday (08/20), with the YouTube archive available immediately after that and a basic, OBS audio archive soon afterwards. So if you can't make it, no worries, the archive will be there for you.

The poll will run til 5PM EDT tomorrow, as to allow us time to do the amount of prep necessary for play! We'll also send another message once we have a definite stream time pinned down. I've pasted some promo text about the games and links to their website pages. It's probably worth digging around online for reviews if you're curious about these, and hey, if you have personal experience, go ahead and tell us about it in the comments!

Based on availability, this game will include Jack, Janine, Keith, and me, so keep that in mind when you're voting!

The Games

Fall of Magic (New this month)

Magic is dying, and the Magus is dying with it. We travel together to the realm of Umbra where magic was born.

Fall of Magic is an award-winning story game in the tradition of the fantasy journey where the landscape, hospitality, and exploration of our character’s relationships take center stage.

We begin by choosing a name and title for our characters. Each turn we chose an area on the map and use the prompt there to inspire the next part of our story. The character of the Magus is shared between us and on your turn you may choose to play as the Magus, advancing us along the road to a new place on the map.

Preview the rules here.

Golden Sky Stories

Originally released in Japan as Yuuyake Koyake, Golden Sky Stories is a heartwarming, non-violent role-playing game that’s great fun for all ages. It takes place in a small town in rural Japan, and players take on the role of henge (pronounced hen-gay, like a chicken that’s happy), animals with just a little magical power, including the ability to temporarily take human form. They do not fight great battles or unearth valuable treasures though; Golden Sky Stories adventures are all about helping others and becoming friends. Recommended for 3-5 players (including one Narrator). Average play time is 1-2 hours.

Misspent Youth

Welcome to Misspent Youth: the dystopian sci-fi game that’s all about friendship, standing up for yourself, and changing the world.

(Preview the PDF or check out the full game in print layout over here.)

One of you is The Authority: the person, thing, idea, etc., that’s turning life in the future into a big shit sandwich which everyone is legally compelled to chow down on. The rest of are Youthful Offenders (YOs), teenagers who’ve had enough. You and the other YOs in your clique are the only ones who’re going to get off their asses to do anything about the world burning down around them.

Lacuna

Sinister secret agents with shadowy employers and mysterious pasts. A bizarre landscape built from six- billion human minds. Arachnid-headed beings that guard a war-torn borderzone. And all the worst that Mankind has to offer, stalking the alleys and crumbling buildings of a place called Blue City.

Is it a dream? Is it a nightmare? Or is it just a game? And are you already playing?

The Warren

The Warren is a tabletop role-playing game about intelligent rabbits trying to make the best of a world filled with hazards, predators and, worst of all, other rabbits. It is a game about survival and community.

There are many creatures, humans included, that are bigger, stronger, meaner, or more numerous than rabbits. The seasons and the elements do not care that rabbits are only little things. Rabbits cannot hope to meet these threats head on. Only through speed, wits, and keeping a cool head can rabbits bypass the dangers of the outside world.

Primetime Adventures

"Ever wonder what would have happened if you were in charge of a TV show you watch?

Would those two have gotten together after all?Would he have finally reconciled with his mother?Would there have been fewer vampires? More wicked professors?

With Primetime Adventures, that’s all up to you!

Create a cast of characters, figure out what makes them tick, and put them in dramatic situations.

Things won’t always go the way you want. Will the characters prove their loyalty? Will they stay out of trouble? Will they remain friends? Play cards to find out what happens when things on your show get complicated"

Misspent Youth sounds too much like my life rn

Tracy O'Brien

Y'all I have NO idea how anyone ever plays Lacuna and I WANT TO FIND OUT

Churlington Beesecoat

I kinda wanna see Keith as The Authority in that, just b/c I feel like he's very good at being a Young Offender (Mako, sometimes Fero, etc)

Friends at the Table

Note from Ali: since scheduling stuff is getting a little swapped around, Bluff City is still next weekend and Tips will be sometime in the midweek before the 1st! This keeps the flow of patreon content steady and also offsets my workload a little bit, so it's a win/win.

Shawn Morris

Cmon happy chickens friendship game

D. W. O'Boyle

I really want to see Golden Sky Stories since it's such a cute happy game. I hope Costume Fairy Adventures is a future option too.

Nathan McKee

Can I add Bubblegumshoe into the list of games to play in future?

Jacqueline

Oh gosh, Fall of Magic would be amazing

Nicholas Chlystun

I hope the happy chicken animal town game results in just a deluge of fan art.

it looks like it's definitely coming it last place at this point, but dang i hope you play Lacuna at some point. It's such a weird game. I've always been intimidated to try running it myself, and I've never gotten to play it...

Ben Moxon

There is no bad option on this list.
