On this episode of 4’ced to Watch 4Kids we wrap things up on Drum Island, and embark to the most ambitious story arc yet: Alabasta! Some fan favorite characters make their debut but with questionable name changes, references to skipped canon, and an unfortunate amount of singing.

On this podcast Steve & Alex will be watching through every episode of the 4Kids dub, four episodes at a time. They'll give their thoughts, they'll give their analysis, and they'll try and get the 4Kids rap out of their head.

Can you please mention that when the dub went to exclusively air on US Toonami, the dubs edits were still likely tailored for the Fox Box/ 4kidstv censors still.

53:02 - I was so confused at first about who they were talking about. When they mentioned the debut of a "pivotal One Piece character," my brain immediately assumed they meant Bon Clay instead of Ace. So when they played the audio clip of the guy speaking in a low voice, I thought "What is this voice they gave Mr. 2?!" LOL.

Also you are right that it's so odd that 4kids removed almost all of the exclamation yellow reaction marks from the characters yet they were kept in the Shaman King dub.
