So, after seeing how everyone chose Laya in the poll, it reminded me of what her role in the story was going to be originally.

This story has been in my head for about six years now, and Laya was supposed to just be a random girl he rescued from a slave auction because Lutz felt bad for her. She only existed to get him into a conflict with that merchant, Roland, and eventually the book's antagonist, Marquis Lars.

She wasn't supposed to be an elf, and she was going to end up in the orphanage that Marquis Adel was building after taking over the territory.

So, who was supposed to be the main heroine, then? Lumina.

But that's a story for another time.

For me it’s a close second for Lumina. No one has seen her interactions with Lutz, so maybe those options will change… nah

Nope, wouldn't count on it heheh. Her cool-headed personality mixed with her young appearance juxtaposes her often sharp tongue and brutal willingness to end the lives of her opponents. It's that gap which I think people like. I know I do. Lumina on the other hand is a bit idealistic and good natured, and she presents herself as such, so I guess there's not as much to latch onto with her. Truthfully, all the girls have grown on me so much that it's hard to put them in any kind of order... Wall of text because mobile!

That’s true. Belle has a lot of awkward charm and Alisha is kind of the button cute one…that is just as dangerous as any of them. Still a bit in the background, but shaping up really well.
