4 years of making YU! (Patreon)

Happy 4th anniversary of YU! 🥳

It's hard to believe four years have passed since I put my project out there for all to see. It's been amazing seeing the positive responses and support grow over that time. Of course not every response is positive as you can see in the pic 😆 but that's all part of the process!

It sounds obvious to say, but we're closer than ever to the game being completed! With the release of v0.69 later this month, every main character will have their relationship level 6 scene, which is their penultimate 1-to-1 scene. With those complete, the stage is set for the endings!

Before that though, I'll be using v0.70 to catch up on side characters and events. v0.71 will have a couple more of those, and my current intention is to set-up the endgame in v0.72, and then use subsequent updates to add endings for each character. Once we're deeper into that process, I'll start sharing my plans for the future!

On a personal note, the last year has been a tough one. Learning to live without my wife is incredibly hard, and everything, including game development, feels so much more difficult. She helped me make characters, write scenes, and just generally supported me. She was the only person I knew IRL who had actually seen and played YU.

But I still love making this game. Right from the beginning I was determined to actually finish it, and in really proud of the progress I've made towards that. I also have several ideas for future projects that I'm excited to share and explore in the future!

I can't thank you all enough for your continued support. The fact that so many people have played and enjoyed my game means the world to me. I'm so grateful for all of you helping me keep this dream alive ❤️ looking forward to seeing what the next year brings!
