All the movies give you a bit of world building, but 3 does give you the most. And more of backstory to John's past and little bit of where he got his skills.

After John Wick Chapter 4, you should have Kristen and Michael watch Nobody. From the same producers and writer of the John Wick franchise, and has a similar feel but more comedic.
