Kristen, you don’t recognize The Red Skull as Elrond? And be prepared for many many requests for you to react to Viggo Mortensen movies. Suggestion: The Prophecy.

Shaun Bidwell

yes their was an animated, by Ralph Bakshi. in 78 and return of the king in 80 made for tv. their was a short film made for the hobbit as well. ... Gandalf says flee you fools

Y’all gotta do the extended editions! The ending credits have a nice song in each of the movies as well. Loved your reactions though. Also, just some lore here: Gandalf and the other wizards are beings called Maiar. They’re basically Angelic beings that we’re sent, by the Valar, to middle earth to help support the people of middle earth defeat Sauron. Sauron is also a Maiar, he’s just super evil. The Maiar, such as Gandalf, and Saruman, are very powerful but because their mission is to support the people of middle earth against Sauron and not fight him directly, their powers were lessened significantly, still not weak by any stretch though. There’s is so much more lore but it’s hard to talk about without going into even more of it lol it’s all connected. Mr Tolkien truly was a genius.

The extended editions add so much more depth. I would recommend watching them instead of the theatrical versions.

Where are you even getting the theatrical cut????? Every platform only has extended 😭

Buhr

Pllllease watch the extended! I get why you went with the theatrical but so many questions you asked are answered in the extended versions.

Walter

My friend - a lifelong LOTR fan - said this after seeing the movie for the first time: "That movie was 20 minutes long, and 15 of it was Boromir dying."

Jgeir

This was a beutiful reaction!! I love how big impact it had on Kristen at the end! 😭😂🫶🏼 I hope you will do the next two before Christmas!

If you end up loving the series, you should watch the extended versions. BUT, I would watch the regular theatrical versions first, because the extended versions aren't necessary to understand the movie. The extended versions are for those who can't get enough of it and want even more tying together of loose ends. What I really love about this series beyond everything that you've mentioned (which I totally agree about) is that Peter Jackson had the foresight in knowing that he wanted to do all 3 movies, so he wisely tied all the actors into an 18-month contract so that they could film all 3 movies in that 18-month period without having to worry about scheduling conflicts and replacing actors. It was sheer brilliance on his part for doing that. Now, once we are done with this series, we should TOTALLY watch the Hobbit series done by Peter Jackson a few years later so that we can get essentially the prequel to this series. :)
