Such a GREAT reaction! As artists I knew you guys would love and "get" this movie. Y'all always pick up on the subtleties. You are absolutely right in your assessment of what happened to hip hop and many other things for that matter. When art starts making money or gets popular, the copycats and appropriators swarm and the original thing becomes something else. I enjoyed watching this with you so much and can't wait for more. Hope you get to Love Jones, Hidden Figures, Boomerang, What's Love Got to Do With It, etc. Thanks so much!

Loved this reaction guys! Love this movie so much. I cant believe no one has mentioned this but Sanaa & Taye’s significant others are married in real life. Nicole Ari Parker & Boris Kodje met on the Showtime TV series Soul Food, which was the reimagining of the 97 film (in series form). They met on the series and have been married for 20 years. You guys should check out Poetic Justice (Janet’s first film, with Tupac, Regina King, and the brilliant Jennifer Lewis). One of John Singletons best movies. Also, at some point I really hope you guys do New Jack City & Jason’s Lyric. 🙏🏾❤️
