If you want to watch another film with Gregory Hines (Joe Hamilton in Preacher’s Wife) got to checkout White Nights. Gregory Hines (not just an actor but one of the greatest tap dancers of all time) teamed with Mikhail Baryshnikov (considered one of the best ballet dancers of all time) for a dance film that is actually a thriller as well. It is also directed by Taylor Hackford as well. One of the best dance films of all time and the dance choreography done by both actors/dancers is absolutely phenomenal in this film.

This was the last movie I watched with my father before he passed. I love this movie so much 🥹💕🌻

Great review. You should watch Coming to America featuring Eddie Murphy and Arsenio hall. A couple of the actors from The Preacher's Wife are in it.

Dana Rankin

Yall don't read the comments enough because I, along with a few others, have recommended this movie with the little know fact that it's a remake of the Bishops Wife, HOT DONUTS!!!!!!! Sigh*. Ok I'm cool now. I am happy you all decided to watch though because its a really good calm movie. One of my favorites ☺️

I’m cracking up at the expectations. 😂 I’m pretty sure this was like a Buena Vista/Disney movie, so that may provide a bit of context on why the more dark/sinister elements you both were anticipating never arrived (i.e. why the villain isn’t as ruthless as in The Barbershop) — Excellent commentary as per (especially going in completely blind) I can’t imagine not knowing what to expect at all, but that’s how I watch movies as well, so I get it. ✌🏾+💜
