Final Destination Bloodlines is amazing. It actually feels like a real film and not just a gimmick of let’s see how clever we can get with the kills. Also, Tony Todd is given one hell of a great scene that maybe the best work he has ever done and is surprisingly heartfelt.

It's simple. FD4 was in the haydays of 3D, every death and special effect (like the Mortal Kombat ones) was made for 3D cinemas and later 3D Blurays for home viewing. That's why it was so tacky. 3D features cost way more at the theatre. Thus it made more money. (But that is my theory lol)
