I will almost always stop what I'm watching to watch Lord of the Rings when it it pops into my mind!

StephMurph

Will y'all also be doing The Hobbit trilogy?

CineJump

We’ve already done that and since there wasn’t that much of a difference lengthwise between extended and theatrical, I believe we did the extended on those as well (if memory serves).

StephMurph

Awesome! I'll have to check those out

Wesley McPherson

Wish you guys would do the bucket list and Cinderella man

Kage Uzumaki

Let's be clear, when. Tolkien uses the word "men", he means humanity - not males.

Adam Ramirez

Oh this is gonna be awesome!!! Please don't spread the watch out too far ;-) Some of us are gluttons for binge watching.

You should also checkout the director’s cut of The Frighteners (1996). It was Peter’s Jackson’s first big studio film. They had to create a new visual effects company to create the visual effects in that film and when it was done they had so manny computers left they did not what to do with it so Peter Jackson started developing a project so epic in scope that they could use that visual effects company again. That project became The Lord of the Rings trilogy. There would be no Lord of the Rings without The Frighteners. Worth the reaction. The film also stars Michael J. Fox in one of his last live action lead roles be for he retired and John Astin (who is the father of Sean Astin who played Sam in Lord of the Rings).

It was 17 years between Bilbo leaving and Frodo seeing him again. Was about 4 weeks from departing the Shire until the council of Elrond. Then about a year after leaving the Shire to when the ring is destroyed. Frodo was 50 years old when they left, Sam 38. They appear the same age because Frodo stopped aging when he got the ring.
