"Chaiya" means shadow. The song is talking about being under the shadow of love, and those who are under this shadow have the heaven under their feet.

Nikhil Sethiya

This music was used in Inside Man movie.Full song , I was surprised. It's at the start :)

Syeda Ruiya

Loved Achara's Chhaiya Chhaiya at 7:12

You know what you should do a cover of hindi songs you like with Jennifer but with lyrics translated in english . That might not be a disaster like last time.

Nevin Rover

An epic creation by the legend AR Rahman.. Fun fact/ this song also features in the opening credits of Inside Man.. Although it makes no sense...

Vanneza Rajenthiran

like for mani ratnam. this is why mani ratnam is a legendary director. a.r. rahman music, Mani ratnam director, and santosh sivan cinema Cinematography are the best awesome combo in south indian film industry.

Shankar Madhavan

That my mani Ratnam sir along with oscar winning a.r. rahman. They are the true legend of indian cinema. Just like christopher nolan & hans zimmer. Providing beautiful films and blockbuster films for hindi & tamil film when they release. Like you saw in kaatru veliyidai trailer.

Tandon Oberoi

When they were talking about listening it on treadmill, I also thought about chikbuk raile.. That song is also related to trains, shot on a station though not on the train.. Lovely music by rahman again and amazing dancing by prabhu deva..

Aria Isara

This song is a classic. I love both the tune and the images. And you're right to say to lyrics are like a poem, because they're based on Urdu poetry. The whole film Dil Se is actually as the plot follows what is considered the 7 stages of love in Urdu tradition. I remember that someone sent the DVD to you, I hope you can watch it soon. It's one of my favourite films.
