Bridgerton isn’t exactly concerned with historical correctness to put it mildly but I was curious if the Prussian prince was a historical figure. With the name Friedrich he would have actually been the crown prince of Prussia, later king Friedrich Wilhelm (Frederick William) IV and father of the first German Emperor. He would have been 18 or 19 years old at the time but that could still check out as the actors are all a lot older than the characters they portray. That’s interesting because a marriage with him would not just have been better than to the duke, it would have been one of the best matches in all of Europe, a massive catch for the daughter of a viscount. Given that the Prince of Wales was already married and France no longer a monarchy [1], only the crown princes of Austria-Hungary and Russia would have been comparable. [1]: Depending on the exact time in 1814 the Bourbon monarchy might have been restored but I don’t know how desirable it would have been for a British noble to marry into it at that time.

Loving these reactions and invested you’re both getting into the multiple storylines. Definitely hoping you’ll continue to season 2 of Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, and then Season 3 of Bridgerton. Also, great job on catching the orchestral versions of modern-day songs, I.e., Billie Eillish, Ariana Grande, etc.

You can still download the video file to play it locally instead of streaming it. I do that anyway for a better experience with a good player like MPV or VLC.

The Whistledown narrator is Julie Andrews... not related to who Whistledown actually is.

Surprised you guys just noticed the modern songs being covered. The first couple of episodes they did Ariana Grande, Maroon 5 and Shawn Mendes.
