Beverly Hills Cop was originally written as a dramatic action flick starring Sylvester Stallone as Axel Foley, but he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with Cobra. Then they signed Eddie Murphy as Axel and they rewrote the script as an action comedy, but still keeping some of those dramatic elements still in there.

Yes watch the whole franchise Beverly Hills Cop, Beverly Hills Cop II, Beverly Hills Cop III, and Beverly Hills Cop Axel F.

Ljm

Beverly Hills Cop II, definitely watch it. Three and Axel F are not very good.

Nate

I'd recommend Beverly Hills Cop 2, but there is no need to go on from there. Quality drops significantly.

'Joe's Apartment' came to my mind.
