Love this film. If you want to see Taron Egerton in another transformative performance, got to checkout his performance in Tetris. It’s also another film based on a true story. Tetris is currently on Apple TV+. Also, his miniseries Black Bird is a masterpiece, as well. That crime drama is starring Taron, Paul Walter Hauser, Greg Kinnear, and Ray Liotta. This miniseries is also based on a true story as well. Black Bird is also on Apple TV+.

It's very easy to read into the thing the movie says about competing standards, they're extremely legitimate safety standards is the key. If they weren't, it'd be easy to complain and say that's unreasonable, but they are legitimate, that's the point. On the it's not a Marvel movie point, it also applies to the marketing budget. It's not really built for international audiences - although it does coincidentally work, on a bunch of levels, it isn't really the point; it wasn't budgeted nor marketed in that way. Taron Egerton wasn't as big a star as he is now (about the same time he only rated a side character in Legend, Kingsman was fairly big in the UK, but it hadn't gained the international cult following it has now), and it's like 3 days work for Hugh Jackman. The main "not real" of this movie is that he did actually have proper coaches and Jackman's character isn't a real person but, y'know, it works. Also, his mother would have totally asked for a conversion, even today the UK uses a hybrid measurement system, so engineering and science things are metric, but people understand things like distances in imperial.
