i took it this way: francesca speaked on the music technically, he spoke on it emotionally. he was also trying to stir the conversation into flirting by talking about romance because he thinks that is what all girls like. "oh, this song was written for the woman he loves? sigh i swoon. i wish a man would compose music for me" and thats so not her personality

- Just finished your uncut reactions to these eps and for me it's such a strong half of a season. We already know Colin and Pen and have seen them inch closer to each other, but here we get to spend time with each of them individually to see them develop more emotionally - Colin struggling to force himself to fit the society mould of a young rakish man that he doesn't want to be, before realising that the person he says himself has made himself feel seen and helps him so the world in new ways is more than just a dear friend. Fair play to him, the moment he understands himself and his feelings, he finds the courage to be brave, with no certainty that it's reciprocated. Then there's Pen in need to escape her mother and sisters, who have never truly seen her, trying to step out and e brave. Plus, without Eloise's friendship, she is actually able to spend more time with Colin too. Their friends to lovers story is very sweet and builds perfectly to THAT carriage scene! Luke & Nicola have such wonderful chemistry, whether romantic, or comedic and the eps just make me smile. - Plus, the side plots all offer interesting character building / relationship building, whether this season, or later. - Plus, I think these eps are beautifully lit and directed too. The lighting choices really are some of the best in this series here.
