not talking about the present day cause i wouldnt know, but as a kid in the 90s i only saw it being ok to be with multiple people in white movies/shows. in real life and black tv shows its frowned upon. the black experience isnt a monolith BUT from personal experience ive never heard of POCs being down with the "oh is just dating so its ok if its multiple people" thats why when a black man is with multiple women its always down secretly. of course if they are culturally white or influenced this virture could not exist.

The therapist scene was so iconic they had jasmine guy play a therapist in living single 😄. In my mind its so much longer what we got. Short but impactful. Relax, relate, and release! Goofy but effective in real life and for the scene. Btw: the therapist is played by debbie allen, an amazing choreographer, showrunner(?)/ writer for a different world and sister to phylicia rashad. She really is the force behind why a different world is so impactful. The heavy influence of the arts (which is her lifes blood) is written all over the show. Love her
