I recommend watching Better Watch TV's breakdowns of each episode after watching the series. You'll get all the behind the scenes info confirmed by the director!

Also, we're not going to act like he's doing all of this for the family. If that was the case, he'd take the job from Gretchen and Elliot. Skylar deserved some type of comfort because she has to keep his secret while everyone is blaming her for being mean to Walt. He forced himself back in her space and she just has to live with it. She needed an outlet and we gotta stop acting like she's the villain here. If we just watched the show from Skylar's POV, we would NOT be on Walt's side.

Watching reactions to Breaking Bad is always so interesting to me because I can't fathom how people can see the nuance and reasoning behind Walt being an actual meth manufacturer and dealer/liar to his family but demonize Skylar for being upset at him. Everything Walt was doing in this episode, from carrying the baby when the cops were here, eating grilled cheese with his son as they waited for the cops, cooking dinner while his sons best friend was there - all of that was manipulative. And we can't pretend that Walt got into drug dealing because he 'had no choice', he had many choices, he had a lucrative job offer that he didnt take because of pride, but people seem to somehow understand his pride and excuse it but can't understand Skylar's hurt. He lied to her for 2 seasons and only decided to tell her now because she found out. There was a lot of financial infidelity happening on his end before Skylars infidelity. And I'm not saying this to judge your reactions at all (I really enjoying watching you both!) but I do want us to understand the underlying misogyny behind how people respond to Skylars character overall. It's always reported that she is one of the most hated characters on TV for having a very human and reasonable response to finding out that her husband his a meth manufacturer. And I commend Vince Gilligan deeply for being able to write women as full human characters with human responses to things, I just wish they could be seen that way by audiences. And I write all this because your response to Skylar cheating was 'There's no way they are coming back from this' but we have seen 2 seasons of Walt killing, manufacturing, dealing and then assaulting Skylar in their kitchen, but your response to him was never to even think that him and Skylars relationship couldn't come back from this.

Exactly! I'm surprised that there is no understanding of Skylars character at all.
