Julie

I had to go out, now I’m back so I can watch this with you guys.

Savannah

on the topic of “changing the bad boy” I think this is the important distinction: do not get with someone wanting them/expecting them/trying to make them change. that’s what Kendall did and it actually did not work out for her. Hannah and Allie didn’t ask anyone to change and they didn’t expect the guys to change for them. these guys fell in love and decided to change on their own. and the girls didn’t put up with anything they were uncomfortable with in order to get them, keep them, or change them. and tbh, that’s the case with most of these tropes. it is always the guy choosing to be better bc a girl asking a boy to change isn’t romantic. a boy changing bc he is in love is. it’s just the audiences that take it and think that they can change someone, but that is rarely ever the message the movie is stating.

Her fear of Garrett is not his anger. It was that he risked his entire career. She saw what happened to her parents and she feels responsible. What he did in the game was NOT starting a fight - Delaney did not have the puck..so what he did was an attack. He not only risked his hockey career, but the school could expel him as well. It was the risking everything that scared Hannah... and if you noticed he called her Hannah and not Wellsey. I have not read the books...not sure if I will. But from what I can gather she was in grade 11 - she is a Junior in College so it has probably been 4 or 5 years since the assault. And telling Garrett about the assault in the earlier episode. I didn't get that she was trying to tell him how to feel, but rather she was not able to sit with him in it to process it. The fact that she had not told Allie - means she probably isn't as far into the recovery as she would like to be. Our brains have an amazing ability to trick us into thinking we are ok... until all of a sudden you are not. Her trauma will always be just below the surface for her. Therapy will help with tools, but a random word, a smell, a touch... there will be things that will bring it to the surface for her... Forever.

Heated Rivalry was NOT more sexual than this show. There were way more sex scenes in this show. Full frontal nudity. And except for a couple of the scenes, most of them did not move the story forward. This show, GoT, Bridgerton, Outlander, White Lotus and that new show Hunting Wives and several more, have much more nudity and sexual content Your shock at the penis shots was funny... uncircumcised. LOL I am not sure why they decided to throw that in at the end. It sure wasn't for the female audience. Jaby, you are not alone. I don't know how old you are, but some of that might be generational. I know a few people, men and women who don't do the "hook-up" culture thing.

Julie

Very well said and I couldn’t agree with you more.

Julie

There is nothing wrong with not doing the hookup culture if that’s not what you want to do. Maybe some people feel there is more to them than sex. To each their own, if people want to hookup and some people rather not than so be it. Like my mom used say it’s your thing do what you want to do. Words from a famous song.🤣

Julie

I have one last thing to say. Jaby everything is not like Bridgerton and I noticed that lately every show or movie you react to you say it’s just like Bridgerton. You even said that when watching A Different World and Scandal.

Love this show!! Saw someone recommend Normal People and want to second it! If you guys haven't seen it, it would be a great follow up watch - the acting is fantastic!!

First of all, I have enjoyed watching you guys react to this series. FYI: this is my opinion from watching the series twice now. When you guys were discussing the break-up when Hannah said "That scared me", she wasn't talking about Garrett scared her, she was talking about how the situation was scary. She was scared he would ruin his life and chances because of her.
