LOL. Yes it is the MOM from Gilmore Girls. Famously Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey did not get along on set. Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough won Dancing with the Stars in 2010.

I love this movie! Well, they must have worked it out because Jennifer Grey had wonderful things to say about Patrick . She talked about them practicing and how she admires him and about how happy she was to know him.

You guys said since watching Off Campus - this is what brought you to Dirty Dancing. It amazes me the number of Reactors and cinephiles I am fully shocked that you had not seen this movie. You also mentioned Silver Linings.. Have you watched Crazy Stupid Love - because Ryan Gosling does the lift with Emma Stone. There are some must see movies I would expect you guys would have seen by now..this one being one of them. That would be like saying you had not watched Princess Bride, Shawshank Redemption, Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, The Green Mile.

Jaby was right. There is a reason there is a quick cut on Patrick Swayze’s jump off the stage. Patrick Swayze actually had an old football injury that he suffered from and when Patrick made that jump Patrick blew out his knee when he landed.

Jerry Orbach, the actor that played Baby’s father, was the voice actor of Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast (1992).

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s feud went back to a previous film they did together called Red Dawn. She thought he was too overly macho, bossy, and played too many pranks on everyone. That feud continued over to this film. That scene where she starts laughing where she is bringing her shoulder down during the dance learning montage she was actually making fun and insulting Patrick. Patrick would also get his insults in too.

If you are wanting to see a recent Jennifer Grey film, she was a supporting character in Jesse Eisenberg’s directing debut, A Real Pain, which got Keiren Culkin his Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. His performance in that film is just as magnetic and hysterical as Marisa Tomei’s Academy Award winning performance for Best Supporting Actress in My Cousin Vinny.

A lot of people like these movies.

Jennifer Grey is the daughter of the legendary Joel Grey who originated the role of Master of Ceremonies in the musical Cabaret on Broadway for which he won a Tony Award. Then he reprised the role in the film of Cabaret and won an Academy Award for his performance. He’s had an amazing career. If you haven’t seen Cabaret, it’s a must watch!

Their animosity originated from the set of Red Dawn a few years before. It was still prominent during the making of this one. Though probably not as tense. Think it was a bit later when they finally made amends but they still had great chemistry regardless. Great movie! Fun reaction.
