Another great sports film to checkout is Hoosiers. Actually Done by the same director, screenwriter, and composer as Rudy 7 years earlier. It was also nominated for 2 Academy Awards: Best Supporting Actor (Dennis Hopper) and Best Original Score. Great cast: Gene Hackman, Barbara Hersey, and Dennis Hopper. This film also does a great job of capturing how big the sport of Basketball is to the overall culture of the State of Indiana and still is just as much today as it was back then. This year is also the 40th anniversary of that film as well. (Also, trust me you have not gone to a true basketball game till you come to a Pacers game here in Indiana. Multiple NBA players have said that one of the toughest play is here in Indiana due to the dedicated loyal Pacers fans in crowd. Trust me, also if you come to the game wearing Pacers attire and cheer on the Pacers that night, you are guaranteed to make 4-5 new friends from the people sitting around you because if you are part of the Indiana Pacers faithful, the Indiana fans will treat you like you are part of their own family.)

If you want to checkout another underdog sports film, I highly recommend Invincible. It’s a Walt Disney sports drama based on a true story about how a 30 year old part time bartender down on his luck got an opportunity to walk on and try to compete for a spot on the roster on the NFL team Philadelphia Eagles in 1976. Great cast as well: Mark Wahlberg, Greg Kinnear, Elizabeth Banks, and Michael Kelly.

So Glad you guys had the opportunity to react to this movie. I can't wait to see what the next movie reaction on the list will be. I agree with Cody Price ... Def. check out "Hoosiers" with Gene Hackman & Dennis Hopper. Such a great movie. Another good Sports movie to check out is, "The Blind Side".
