Daniel Prakash

I even keep a sealed copy of DDLJ on blu ray in my SRK collection 😂

Trigon

Omg! A classic 🙌 imo would have been even better if steph was there too.

Amanda

Gives me a reason to rewatch DDLJ and fall in love with SRK and Kajol again 😍

Abhinav Bhatia

Jaby and Achara, remember that train scene in the beginning of Chennai Express, where SRK helps Deepika and a bunch on dudes on to a train, with DDLJ mandolin music in the background?

Prateek Reddy

Yes srk and kajol farted so beautiful in this movie. If srk makeout in public event with kajol more publically (references to srkbeing happy to be couple with kajol on movies event and award show memes). They would of won oscar. Damn they are little restricted by ajay devgan and Kauri khan. Even we srkian farted so hard and ryhtmaticaly and systematically it would celebrated across Hindia.(references from the movie 3 idots). If bollywood failing at the boxoffice presently why people like past movies so badly. Lol the srkian.

Gosh I love the cheese. This much appreciation Jaby and Achara has for the SRKian, Srk, and Kajol. Why are not they not getting golden globe nomination at least including the SRKIANS. While RRR get golden Globe nomination and A.R. Rahman get oscars. These couple should promote SRK and Kajol to oscar judge and juries. We need international verification of approval for Srk. SRK and Kajol should dominate with their towel performance at international stage.

divyansh mahey

Just listen to me for once watch Baadshah. Its SRK's classic man. Lets gooooooooooooooooooooooo

Bro I know mental health is really big issue nowadays, I hope you find a good psychiatrist and get well soon to you and good luck to your psychiatrist

Salima Ranbir Khan

What is great about SRK is he will make women dance in towel and bikini. This is why is He is King Khan. The Legendary Khan. When he does the Salaam. SRIANS & GIRLS will fall on their k nees, The true magic of King Khan. King of Bollywood. Remember that Jaby and Achara.

Rejitha

That was a lovely reaction Achara and Jaby. And long overdue. This movie is the Cinderella story for every millenial lady 😄 and with Raj came the unrealistic expectation from men. It was fun reliving those iconic moments with you. The subtitles didnt always do justice but I am sure you guys caught enough. This movie set tropes that are still followed in rom-coms be it genuine or satirical. 😄

Ietseatapples

Theres an amazing 3 part "DDLJ Making of the Film" series on YRFs youtube channel that you guys would just love. Its so funny and has so many behind the scenes moments.

Cinderkin Balliya

How come a guy who never won a national award get priority and apprication to his watch along movies? Jaby never did watchalong for a Dhanush movie. He still get to work in Hollywood films like the Grey Man and He won national award two times. Since jaby watching Bollywood Movies. The Boxoffice is getting worst and worst. Cirkus did only 9 crores on a Christmas Holidays.

It just some rich patreon who die for srk paying them to watch srk films. He/she will be more happy and excited if he get the cheese from them. Man at atleast the telugu fan base like mahesh babu, pawn kaylan, allu arjun, ram charan, prabhas, and jr ntr are more decent then these srkian. Watch srk doing this, watch srk doing that , and watch be cute. Lol. Even other south indian fan base are mature.

Prateek Reddy

It not hate for SRK. MORE THEN 20 MOVIES OF SRK THEY HAVE watch along. Their is no ajay devgn watchalong except the hindi remake of malayalam drishyam. He won national award. What did srk do these high tier people life? Help to pay medical bill for their family? Help to pay for their education tuition fee, and provided to live rich to them. He never won a national award. How people enjoy his snot comming out and drolling cringe scene. I dont understand what is great about srk. Even jaby point out he does not like srk snot crying.

Salima Ranbir Khan

Breaking News. Sushant Singh Rajput was murdered. Mortuary servant of the Cooper hospital where late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s autopsy was done has raised doubts about the actor’s cause of death. Rajput was punched in his eye and the marks on his neck were not from hanging and that he could have been strangulated. Man poor guy. Someone actor from bollywood watchalong movie by Jaby Koay must of done it.

I ain't a bloody squid

Please consider 99 (2009) by Raj and DK for a future movie reaction.

KZ

Hey I just wanna say I loved the reaction. Ignore the one or two haters of srk here that just can’t understand class. Also looking forward to seeing Happy New Year movie reaction on new years ;)

I know. Jaby getting to down to it. Like srkian servent. Man you srkian make poor jaby and achara work. "You guys will go after him, if he does not say 'I know it classic" "i know it classic" in his review. Stop making him shit his pants. More Srk stuff and react to this and that, that and this, this and this, that and that. You will enjoy this. Watch srk stuff and react to this and that, that and this, this and this, that and that. I am hugry for reaction. Feel me more or I will not fart in tonight sleep. Jaby "let me put out their that this is classic film"

Prateek Reddy

Yes master Srkian. Jaby getting down to it. "I know it classic" but I like the film. Jaby must be scared of SRKIANS. Please dont be hurting Jaby koay and make him work hard on srk. He is innocent human being. "But I know it classic".

Prateek Reddy

"Let me put out their that I know is I know it is classic" "I know it is a classic but srk farted" - jabykoay to the srkians.

Hey Jaby and Achara. You asked if this movie impacted Indian culture in any way. I don't think it did, it was merely a reflection of Indian society. Till date, parents sometimes agree and sometimes don't. However, somethings to note in the context of culture here: 1. This movie resonated with both, Indians living in India, and the Indian diaspora because it showed NRIs but still has a nostalgic callback to India and people's roots. It actually covered both identities of Indians, the global Indian as well as the traditional Indian and a lot of Indian themselves switch between these two identities. 2. For me as a 6 yr old when it released, it was just a fun love story. But for my then 31 yr old mom, it was the best love story she d seen in a while. I remember the film finished and she and my auntie kept discussing how charming SRK was and how they could watch this film again and again. I think it's because the late 80s and early 90s were filled with really garbage rom-coms. This was a genuine breath of fresh air that touched every person's heart. 3. It may not have impacted the family culture in India but it impacted us girls. We grew up watching SRK being the ultimate romancer. For us SRKisms aren't the annoying things he does at the beginning. Those were just things that Indian boys were expected to do (sadly). SRKisms for us are things like his knowing mysterious smile, the slight sideways nod, those scrunched eyebrows and flirty looks when he s teasing a girl, the good boy look when he s addressing his elders. The epitome of charm. From wanting a strong muscular action hero type boyfriend, girls started wanting a caring, slightly goofy slightly fun, charming boyfriend like SRK. 4. The Chopra family- Yash Chopra and his son Aditya Chopra are known for being able to weave and direct such iconic romances. Yash Chopra directed Silsila, which is such a romantic film. His son Aditya Chopra wrote and directed this film. And Yash Chopra directed Veer Zaara, another iconic romance. Both DDLJ and veer zaara, if you notice, has SRK playing this aspirational lover. The girl s losing her mind coz she can't stop thinking about him and wondering if he ll show up. And voila! He does show up. From another country. Just for you! Every girl s dream! It's like they know how to fulfil that very basic and innocent need for love and commitment. 5. Amrish Puri, the dad, is an iconic actor and an even more iconic villain. His eyes singlehandedly played the role of the antagonist or the obstacle in this film. They scared us back in the 90s too. I think the reason Puri's face didn't change much in the penultimate scene when Srk explains his values, is that dads and men werent expected to instantly melt and change their opinion or even be expressive. It was in keeping with an Indian dad's character and his ego. Even if he was melting inside and rationalising based on what srk said, his ego and momentary anger would not allow him to show those things on his face. So it worked for us. 6. Yes, the choice for the female singer for Kajol was not good. They chose Lata Mangeshkar who was then in her 70s and had an old woman voice. This was the case with many songs in the 90s and honestly, it irritated me a lot as well.

Bagam

I'm not Indian, but I had the same question as to the impact on parenting from this movie. Perhaps it didn't have an impact on parents at the time but maybe for the generation that watched this as young people/teens and are now parents, this movie changed the way that generation now chooses to parent? Btw, there'a hilarious video or SRK and Kajol "The Jodi Awakens", hope you huys can watch it at some point :)

I agree that Lata does not suit Kajol whatsoever in this movie. The old age makes her voice thicker, and more operatic. But at the same time, she is an inseparable part of Yash Chopra and hindi cinemas legacy. It just seems like she HAS to do the vocals for his heroines, its part of the definition of being a Yash Chopra actress. And for an actress like Kajol, having at least one movie where Lata sang for her is probably on her dream career check list. Its like joining the hall of fame of Bollywood actresses. Even if the voice doesn't fit the actress at all, i wouldn't change it all for these reasons.
