How to mod GFL2 (with MiMiTools) (Patreon)
Content
The modding guide is back!
Again, before we start, we need to keep this in mind (taken from GFL2 Discord Modding server with slight adjustment):
Is it safe to use mods in GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM?
3DMigoto works by replacing the data in a way that guarantees no modifications of game files, and is thus a non-invasive way of modding. In conclusion, it's fine to mod. Just don't post screenshots with UID visible online. Mod responsibly and don't be dumb.Like with the Hoyoverse games, and WuWa, use 3DMigoto. It's the only way to mod the game and there is no auto-ban for it.Just never place 3DMigoto in the game's folder, since you don't need to anyway and that's a stupid thing to do
With that out of the way, let's get started!
First thing first, you need to download MiMiTools (shortened to MMT) from the Githubhttps://github.com/StarBobis
Head over to Releases and download any version you want, for this guide, we go with MMT 1.0.90
Install and run it, then you'll see probably something like this (it might be differ on other version), and go ahead pick the English language
With this, you can either skip and use default MMT settings, or customize the paths to your liking
When the setup is done, go ahead and click other games icon and pick GFL2
The background might change, but worry not as nothing break, now go ahead and check for DLL Updates and download the latest version of it, when it's done, open Game Settings
In the settings, go ahead and set the injector target path to your gfl2 .exe
In this case, I set to my GFL2 Steam ver.
With that done, hit the start and a console command will appear and waiting for you to launch the game!
When done correctly, this should appear on your screen, you can read it and press F10 when you're done with it
And now you're ready to mod your GFL2!
Now back to MMT, go ahead and open the Mod Manager tab
Now drag and drop folder/archive the mod you want to add to the game and confirm install
And voila! If the game still running, you just need to hit F10 button to reload all the mods without restarting the game
Happy modding!

Questions/Troubleshooting Corner
Q1: Some tabs on the tools locked behind activation key
A1: Worry not, you can use the program normally, but for creating mod, you'll need to support said dev.
Alternatively for creating mod, you can use Doll Remolding Lab made by TowerworksXVI
While the tools still is limited to modding chars/enemies/weapons and doesn't have 3DMigoto dump like SSMT/MMT, it's still highly recommended for modding characters considering how easy to use it is (go and support him too if possible!)
Q2: What about SSMT Guide? What's the difference compared to old SSMT?
A2: Will make the guide soon. It's pretty much the same, only UI difference, while SSMT now updated by team members as said in the MMT-Documents
