Guest: "Annibale"Originally recorded: March 29, 2019

We're reposting unlocked & free the first part in RWN celebrity-guest Annibale's 6-part series on the Hundred Years War. In part 1, Annibale helps us to understand the world of the Middle Ages, weeding out the Enlightenment-era myths that persist through today. We learn about local West European economies, societies, politics; the military technologies and tactics of the time; and how they began to change with the outbreak of war.

Would you like to know more, including the next 5 episodes of Annibale's Hundred Years War series? Don’t think it’s this ep but Annibales account of Jeanne D’Arc is my all time favorite piece of RWN.

Randall Patton

Yes, his Jeanne D'Arc take is great. He does a magnificent job explaining the social/cultural context of the Hundred Years War.

The opening discussion makes me want to punch a wall. Why is it that these front of the class yes-man hall monitor snitch-ass liberals insist that everyone follow the rules EXCEPT for the rule that they be held accountable for their actions? I know pointing out hypocrisy is the lowest form of criticism, but part of it is a reflection of how words count more than actions for them and Americans in general, but it really does just come down to “I cannot ever be wrong. It’s the rest of the world that is wrong.”

Episode 177 - part 3 of 6 of The Hundred Years’ War

“We’re going to have to do a part two.” /Parts 3 - 6 greedily eye the feed

CR

Part 2 starts by saying that it will be three parts. LOL.

The opening discussion on Russiagate was so useful to remind myself of why things are how they are in 2025.

Laying the groundwork for a continuation of the Italian wars series 🤔?
