I agree that Vance was kind of set up for failure. However, if Israel lobby types are screaming now like they are in public, you can only imagine what it must be like through more private channels. I see Rubio's actions with Lebanon and his trip to GCC this week as a pretty clear attempt to sabotage the MOU. Rubio is a snake in the grass. He also appears to be surrounded by highly competent advisors and is willing to listen to them. Based on Trump's actions over the past month he appears to be highly resistant to re-starting the war before the November elections. However, I think there is going to be significant pressure for him to do so after November.
