We talk to Matt, who runs one of the great OSINT accounts of 2026 - @Bonzerbarry, aka Barry with the NED - about the war in Yemen reignited this summer when the Saudis bombed the airport in Yemen's capital, Sanaa: Ansarallah's battle tactics, strategies and weaponry, the various Saudi-backed forces they face, and where the main theaters of war are today.

I imagine Ansar Allah also has human intelligence for targeting etc, a Yemeni friend of mine told me their solidarity with Palestine gave them alot of prestige and goodwill that even people who didn't like them were joining. I imagine there would be a few sympathetic people in western Yemen willing to make some phone calls

WSJ tying China to Ansarallah immediately before Xi arrived in Washington to be blown by Trump because all signs show they at least know that the U.S. is now subservient to China is a ballsy but ultimately stupid idea. It is like the deep state and the Trump people have both decided to make it 100% clear the U.S. only acts in bad faith and cannot be trusted or dealt with like a serious country. Once again, Evil will always win because Good is dumb. The Chinese will to just exist and deal with bullshit like some zen nonsense is fucking over everyone when it is fully within Beijing’s power to economically and materially destroy the west for the good of humanity. Oh well. I’m on team burn this motherfucker down. So slow or fast the west’s turn is over and the world will be a better place when Europe and the U.S. return to the irrelevant backwater of backwards ass violent assholes murdering each other.

Irrespective of anything else, Mark constantly hedging and saying Putin violated the foundational war crime of Aggression is such cowardly or stupid bullshit. Russia was right to do what they did. They are right to do what they have been doing. They are being immensely stupid in not being more ruthless, which is a historical failure of Russians for two millennia, and the constant hedging like the U.S. and NATO aren’t the ultimate responsible parties for this war and they are the war criminals had reached the point of absurdity or just stupidity five years in.

China, choosing to 'just exist' and build up its economy and military is rational and productive. The US chronically entangling itself in foreign wars is irrational and unproductive. There's a certain amount of irony in advocating for China 'destroying the west for the good of humanity' as if a gloves-off conflict between super powers would be good for anyone. China has narrowed the power gap between it and the US precisely by avoiding all of this hyper-aggressive bullshit.

This is tangential but it's always crazy to me how reddit has that combat footage sub and it was absolutely flooded with vids by the Ukrainian paramilitaries right before the war started Just dozens of videos of Russian militants getting killed by mines or ambushes or whatever

You're post hoc applying to the invasion a grander geopolitical narrative of Russia trying to secure global multipolarity or protecting its own "right to exist" in opposition to the Western blob, instead of the reality of Russia attempting to wrestle Ukraine back into its economic sphere of influence before the Western blob could properly react. It's still an act of aggression and people are still dying by the thousands.
