Vilnius hosted two wartime summits this past week: the NATO summit, which resulted in a big franchise-expansion victory for Washington, but ended in humiliation for Zelensky; and a few days earlier, the Vilnius NAFO summit, where NATO's troll army was celebrated by heads of state, only to make the fatal troll mistake of revealing their real selves from behind their Shiba Inu avatars. We talk to researcher Moss Robeson about his research on the infamous NAFO twitter trolls and their founder, an online Nazi fanboy from Poland named Kamil Dyszewski.

This reminds me of the problem in the intelligence community where employees are untouchable because prosecutors can’t use anything against offenders due to national security. Spending two-three decades regularly using trafficked persons and media to entice and control assets isn’t helping. It’s all connected.

BJP's complete social media army (also called IT cell) destroyed Rahul Gandhi's image between 2013 and 2019 through a concerted SM campaign pushed into even real media. Its been very unsettling watching people who profess to be soc dems or dem socs casually talk about how we could "wash" russia in a nuclear war. NAFO bots are extremely annoying trolls but the ones that claim to back progressive causes and scream at you for advocating for peace are the worst.

This is in no way meant to conflate the two together, but the similarities in style between Gary Brecher and Kamil are uncanny. The fat, disproportionate body. The complete lack of social skills and overall demeanor in public. Even the dog shooting joke and "leave Russia a crater" comment read like a very poorly written Brecher parody. Considering GB was a parody already, it's absolutely insane that he's the key speaker at a conference hyped by by the Prime Minister of Estonia. I'd say it's absolutely crazy, but at this point nothing should really suprised us anymore.

Honestly I think Moss was one of their best guests ever. This isn't meant to take anyway from any others, but he has to be the first guest to *never* have any tangents/side stories, or even the slightest bit of unnecessary info. Every response was extremely concise but also full of information. I genuinely didn't think he was still on the episode for the 2nd half until they asked him about something. To me that's the ultimate compliment for a guest. Hopefully they can get him back for another topic

Is NAFO directing any of their fire at the American right? There's a lot of american posters who mostly share their nazi beliefs but think Putin is "based" for whatever reason. From the interview seems like they mostly go after centrists/leftists who aren't sufficiently Pro-Ukraine (and Russians of course)

Well, the US was happy to kayfabe hatred of white supremacy long enough to make sure the European war ended in a way that was most beneficial to its interests. And the fact that Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allies rather than to, say, Allen Dulles, that would prove a point of contention from that day forward. If them that had doffed the Nazi uniforms were now willing to help the US in its struggle against Communism, well, we were happy to look the other way at some cheeky genocide stuff, water under the bridge and all that. The Shiba Inu has been an internet mascot for probably decades now. Dogecoin was started as a joke (iirc) but actually started to rise in value until Elon came by and ruined the joke, per usual. NAFO has basically bastardized the Shiba image much in the same way four Chan users have stolen and repurposed Pepe the frog

yeah correct. to give some exact figures, the actual original picture of Kabosu the dog was published in 2010 and took off on 4chan around 2013. Dogecoin was launched in 2013 as a dunk on shitcoins but the founder changed tune when it actually gained value as part of the trump election crypto boom as an incredibly online guy i never really saw kabosu the dog as a right wing whitstle but i guess anything can be repurposed if you go viral enough

Moss is great. I remember how years ago he opened my eyes to the monuments to Waffen SS veterans in Canada and NY state. He’s been doing excellent, albeit unappreciated, research into OUN metastases. I wish he’d get more time to speak. Maybe consider using something like a chess clock to keep track of the guest vs. hosts speaking time. I understand the topic of trolls is exciting, and it’s easy to get carried away when discussing it. Mark raised the question and expressed his astonishment about how over the top the hatred of Russians as a people is widespread in Europe, even if Ukrainians are taken out of the equation. I believe this is exactly how the racism towards Asiatic Russkies manifests. It’s not as intuitive as a similar racism directed against Chinese because Russians kind of, sort of to a large extent look European. But it is a real racism nevertheless. It is centuries old. The great Crimean War episode touched on that. Also, I think at some subconscious level Europeans still cannot ‘forgive’ Russians for 1945.

The question of the battlefield situation has been so ideological from the start, that I think it became very crucial WHOM they invite as a guest. Their boondoggle of "Russian military is a joke" now makes it very difficult to invite somebody who'd show how wrong that take of John and Mark was. It takes some courage to do it. I suspect that's a big part of the reason we keep getting Ben Aris again and again instead of somebody much better qualified.
