It's been a long time coming, but in between work and Giant's Wake, I've been trying to update Aryka's Guide to use the new 2024 Edition of the rules. These rules will be what current D&D culture will use, so I want to also make them available for them!

The 8 subclasses from Aryka's Guide have been updated to use the new rules and wording, and then tweaked and rebalanced as needed. Here's a summary of the more notable changes:

Barbarian: Path of the Meteor

Rages now last 10 minutes, but the power scaling doesn't change because each subsequent leap still costs a Bonus Action, making it unusable outside combat.

To give the Barbarian more exploration features at Level 3, the guiding light they shed during Rage now confers Guidance. This improves at Level 14.

Cleric: Infinity Domain

Heightened Inertia has been replaced with a new feature called Limit Break. It improves Boundless Potential uses (a la Light Cleric) and also grants occasional bonuses to rolls. The subclass now leans heavier into exploding dice (better), replace the odd theming of Heightened Inertia. Heightened Inertia will become a spell available to this Cleric instead.

Infinite Expanse now has an additional permanent benefit to make it more interesting. The 100 miles also becomes 500 miles because this Cleric would walk 500 miles and then walk 500 more.

Fighter: Cyborg Warrior

The original Overclock was balanced with Indomitable in mind. Now that Fighters' Indomitables are extremely good, the Fighter also gains 1 Exhaustion level when partially succeeding on the saving throw. Exhaustion in the new rules is not as punishing as the previous one, so gaining stacks of it through over-use of Overclock dissuades high-level Fighters without handicapping them.

Added an Arcane Catalyst modification that allows the Fighter to cast spells, granting them extra customization options.

Monk: Warrior of the Dark Star

Grapples largely changed with the new edition and are more punishing. This monk was entirely built around grappling, so things have to adjust.

Like the new Elements Monk, Dark Star Monks now activate a state to gain bonuses. This bonus also grants them 10 foot Reach for the duration (to still give the Monk some benefit against Huge+ creatures). The +1 bonus to AC was removed because grapples are punishing enough.

Event Horizon's damage was reduced to account for the extra Unarmed Strike the monk can make now. However, the size limit was removed - go grapple that Tarrasque.

Ranger: Void Runner

No major changes. With the new weapon masteries (Nick) and updates to Two-Weapon-Fighting, Shoot First may feel fairly good.

Rogue: Phase-Shifter

No major changes.

Warlock: Artificial Intellect Patron

No major changes.

Wizard: Technomancer

Technomancy Savant has been updated to match 2024 wording. They now get Technomancy spells for free instead of tying the feature to Gold cost.

Adjusted some programs to better match other Level 6 features.

Added a new Spam Filter program.

There aren't actually that many Technomancy spells in the book for the Wizard to make use of Technomancy Savant. The inclusion of alternative spells partially addresses this issue, but I'm currently writing some cool new Technomancy spells to add to the collection (and eventually, the 2024 edition of Aryka's Guide). I'll post them here when they're ready!
