When you're a part of the Secret Service, you devote your life to protecting your allies. You too can dive in front of bullets. You too can lead them out of danger. You too can hold your finger up to your ear like a cool mofo.

This subclass was created as part of a semi-modern Government one-shot that I ran. My friend tried this subclass out and was extremely happy with it. We had a really fun moment where his ally was being shot at, he was able to catch the bullet and prevent the damage. It's super fun and you should go try it out!

The monk's kit is usually scattershot and provides various abilities that compliment the class features. A lot of the design stems from its thematic origin, which is pretty different from a typical monk's set. With that in mind, let's dive into this subclass' features:
While most monks get one 3rd level feature, this monk gets two because it only has a defensive feature and a roleplay feature (like Drunken Master monks). Specialized Training provides some flavorful roleplay benefits, including the most well-known aspect of the Secret Service: a radio voice in your ear.
The Take the Hit feature allows the monk to use its Deflect Missiles feature more often and decrease damage. The increased mobility gained by just moving towards allies is also intentional. This feature is designed to scale with monk levels and increased movement, allowing the monk to protect their allies better.
The Counter-Intelligence feature provides additional thematically-appropriate combat and roleplay bonuses. Being able to act first is great for this monk, allowing them to stun or get into positions to protect allies.
The Field Medicine feature is very similar to the 11th level feature from the Way of Mercy monk. It helps further their role as a protector.
The final Security Detail feature allows the monk to provide even more protection through reduction and extending the Evasion feature. It benefits allies within melee range, who are most vulnerable to taking damage. It also offers safety for a group traveling through dangerous terrain.
