Its safe to say that atleast Mayas butler respects Tatsuya. He refers to Tatsuya as "Master" and is so far the only Yotsuba person to greet both siblings when both are present. And its probably not because he is a butler, since in s1 when we met dad for the first time his butler was totally disrespectful

Maya won't be reluctant to harm Tatsuya, her most favorite "toy". By the way, the magic she used in this episode is not mental magic. That's Meteor Stream. Meteor Stream is Maya's innate magic, is a Convergence-Type Magic, which controls the distribution of light in its area of effect. Its power is especially amplified in a closed space such as rooms or tunnels. Meteor Stream is the Japanese name, it is representative of the appearance of the magic, but the English name ‘Meteor Line’ is more representative of the nature of the magic. [4] The apparent process of this magic first forms countess tiny balls of light floating in the darkened area, which are then shot out as rays. Anything in the path of the space the light passes through is modified as the light is transmitted: regardless of the hardness of the object, heat resistance, plasticity, or resilience, a hole is drilled through. It cannot be defended by blocking, reflecting or refracting and it also cannot be shielded by magic. It is also almost impossible to prevent it via anti magic, since it's mediated via physical phenomenomn called light, also preventing it via intereference over an area is a big hurdle since one would need interference strenght over 'distribution of light' to be greater than Maya's innate magic. [4] Once ‘Meteor Shower' was invoked, even the strongest defense magic like ‘Phalanx' from the Juumonji Family wouldn't be able to withstand it. Not even Tatsuya could escape unscathed if it activated before he could use Decomposition.[22]

Because Hayama is one of the few within the Yotsuba family who knows the truth about Tatsuya
