The theming of the original canon is to embrace humanity, while those that are cruel, selfish, and power hungry are demons. There is none of this flipping of the script shit. In fact, the "humans" that embody such dark natures eagerly become demons, though find themselves struggling to acquire greater power. With the big bad of Devil May Cry 4 being unable to pull out as much power from Sparda's sword that bares his name, even though the big bad worships Sparda as a Savior in their cult. While those that embrace humanity like Dante, and some demons that have turned on their own kind, are able to gain more power naturally.
