Palexdo

Maria is literally capable of making anyone and anything forget. She first made her enemy forget how to use his mechanical armor, he put the armor in automatic battle mode and she simply made the armor forget how to attack. She can make her enemies forget even the concept of Attack. She can even defend against magic by making the magic forget to exist.

It's a famous Japanese literary tradition of sort, "moon is pretty" meaning "I love you". Iirc some famous writer used that in his novel and it became popular. Some anime also used that. And also some strategy games have hero units that can't be respawned when destroyed, balancing out the fact that they are very strong. I guess Eternal Nations had such mechanics.

"The worst they could do is kill the girls" - oh I had no Idea. Killing the girls would have been mercy.

Also in many animes they make a common trope missunderstanding. Someone says "Suki" - "I like you/I love you" and the absolute idiot receiving hears "Tsuki" - moon. I guess that only contributes to it.
