None of these characters stories are done so who knows when we see them again.

James Ancester

Best girl may yet return, but you must be patient. What we can't be patient for is the absolute peak of anime next episode.

Kano Misogi

Kaiki used the example of ghosts. He knows people that believes in ghosts, but doesn't believe it in himself. Because of that he can fool those into believing he knows what he's doing and they'll then buy whatever charm/service that they think can help them. Though if he saw a real ghost he'd be afraid, as he isn't a real ghost buster equipped to handle them. He's an imposter

The main reason there was no 'fight' or action from kaiki in the confrontation was 1 because there was two of them but also because there was a certain 3rd entity present kaiki wanted nothing to do with (The former king of oddities shinobu).

Megatherium

One critical element here is that he actually does know what he’s doing. He is selling people exactly what they want, he just doesn’t believe in it himself. Here is an analogy. Imagine an apothecary that specializes in ancient herbal medicine. He has encyclopedic knowledge of all the different remedies and regimens prescribed in various ancient cultures and regions. Customers come to him with various ailments and wish to try the wisdom of the ancients. From his studies, he knows exactly how various combinations of symptoms would have been treated by each person’s ancestors. He sells them the freshest, highest quality version of these items. And yet, he doesn’t believe in any of it. He thinks it’s all nonsense. From his POV, he is selling snake oil, and yet his expertise is legitimate, and people understand exactly what they are buying.

Kano Misogi

Yup. He know what he's doing, has the knowledge, but doesn't believe in any of it. He wants no part in their delusions

Vueko

I feel like he's not being that hypocritical, Araragi doesn't see himself as justice like Karen and as we saw in Kizu his motives can be pretty selfish, like you said, still abit hypocritical but there's alot of stuff he does differently.

Jaron Clark

Yep and through the power of placebo, the people oftentimes believe they are cured.

again better late than never. But for the "the fake thats better than the real thing", you can think of counterfeit articles. The story even brings up the example of a Diamond. If a diamond is purely created in a lab artificially, and in the end it has the exact form, shape, size and brilliance than an originally mined one, Is it not the "real thing" despite being a fake? Would you be able to differentiate? Which of the two had more value? Kaiki for example would pick the lab grown diamond as more valuable, because there was so much time Spend into researching it, creating it, and the effort of making it as good as the real thing. Isnt it thus more than "the real thing"? Hachijuki brings up another example. "A man drives his Rolls-Royce through a long road. Suddenly it breaks down, and he manages to still reach the next village. Due to the legendary service, the support he called promises him that the Car is repaired by tomorrow. The next morning he steps outside and sees his rolls-royce in one piece compeltely new. So how did the workshop do it? This far off? Wouldnt it stand to reason they just replaced the whole thing and gave you a new one? How would you notice, and if you would, why would you care if everything is the same as before?". This is also a story that guides over for the next arc In human terms, which is also the role of Hanekawa here, she is the real thing, the genuine article. Same for araragi somewhat. He got strong enough (by chance) to solve issues by force. However if someone like the Fire sisters spend so much time training and thinking, just to reach the same ideals, arent they "more real" than the real thing? The arc being anti-climatic is exactly the whole point. (meta level of this being an anime aside) Life isnt theatre, its not going by a three act structure. This whole arc didnt follow the heroes journey. In Life there doesnt need to be a boss battle at the end to resolve. Growing up doenst just mean getting older, it also means that solutions are manyfold. Karen tried the shounen route with Kaiki and failed. Araragi did the right thing by simply bringing numbers and forcing him out, Kaiki realized this and just cut costs. Its the Adult thing to do, and goes totally against everything that childrens sense of Justice is. Afterall This is the whole message of this arc.
