And this actually was Ferdinand Lite compared to the LN. The whole anime is more kid friendly. Unfortunately so, because the darker, more complex nuances are lost. Next week should be interesting and action-packed. It's the start of the real main arc of the whole of Part 3, which they have been delaying until now in the anime. It will show us if WIT was actually willing to put in some effort in this anime. So far, it's been underwhelming. If they didn't lock in even then, all hope is lost for the rest of the season and we can only hope they choose a new director for Season 5 so that they can put this show back on the road properly. Season 5 is pretty much guaranteed I think, as part of the deal, but if the show stays lackluster, Season 6 and beyond will never happen.

Veronica, Sylvester's mother, is in prison for helping her brother, the former High Bishop, to commit crimes. More specifically she had been shielding him from the consequences. However, she directly helped the former High Bishop with forging the fake passport for Count Bindewald from Aurensbach that tried to kidnap Myne. She crossed the line, directly defying Sylvester's orders as the Aub/Archduke actively participating in the scandal rather than just shielding her brother. Therefore she was sent to prison and no longer able to directly influence Wilfried. Yes, she spoiled Wilfried and negatively influenced him regarding Ferdinand. As for Wilfied potentially losing the position of next Aub, the competition wouldn't be with Sylvester's sister's children (they're no longer in Ehrenfest as she's married to the Aub of Aurensbach), but rather Sylvester's other children, even including Rosemyne herself.

Cinema once again. They will likely explain everything in the coming episodes. They've done a great job so far even if some overly critical people seem to disagree.

It's a bit undersold here, but Florencia was way more pissed off. Also not included because they focused on Wilfried's perspective, but Myne was shocked to see what Moritz the tutor was trying to teach Wilfried. She was so excited to learn new things only to discover that Wilfried hadn't learned a single thing. Her "lesson" was basic stuff like learning the alphabet, so instead she spends her time telling him how to be a better teacher and coming up with lesson plans for him. Pretty funny to see an 8 year old kid telling a grown adult their approach to teaching is wrong and then do their job better than them.

Like other wrote the ep is showing just a smaller part what happen. Rhyarda had much bigger crash out at the attendants and Florencia was much more angrier to Silvester and Wilfrieds attendant. But the ep still captures the events pretty well. People never understand that a 1-1 adaption especially in a dialogue heavy LN is just not possible. The anime doesn’t talk about but we know that Silvester sister got married off to a different dukedom. Veronica is in prison because she helped in the forgery of the entry permit for Count Bindewald and was involved in that crime

I love your hype for Dirk like meeting a nephew that you haven't seen in a while. It was kinda heartwarming lol.

Ferdinand hates Wilifred almost as much as Cawcaw hates Kamil
