I think the night battle shows that the officers, especially the artillery are actually quite skilled. The problem is that they are very inexperienced. The war has been going on for years now and Tanya's group are basically the elite of the elite with more combat experience than anyone. I assume that the new officers are fresh out of the academy and have seen minimal combat before but will grow into their role under Tanya's "benevolent" leadership.

I think the whole situation about how Tanya keeps provoking being x and ends up in worse situations is a core part of her character. Because the basis of Tanya’s worldview is rationalism. And she’s basically taking a stand against being x’s incompetence in the “system he’s designed”, his yearning for believers, etc. As in Being X stands for everything that Tanya despises. And so if Tanya were to rationalize that “ok if I just fold to being X, my life will be better”, that means that she’s trusting and believing in Being X which is a complete antithesis to everything Tanya stands for despite that fact that it’s evident that every time she seems to “catch a break and taunt being x”, the situation just turns for the worse. So she’s never going to make the rationale that if she does some action A, then being x will do action Y, because this requires her to believe in being X.

TBH at this point is not like beliving in him is going to get her out of war, probably all it is going to do is getting her plot armor and the empire win, but the war is going to be as bloody, because Being X is using Tanya to make others believe. Her believing only would mean she would become a willing tool.

Sometimes good animation is bad animation…..I remember being in the theaters watching the movie and they showed old boy being a pedo…and someone just yelled out…awww that’s nasty…

also the anime never properly explains it but you asked why being x does take tanya power away the reason is that tanya doesnt get to use does power for free each time she uses them being x is slowly brainwashing tanya into a believer creating alterego in tanya which i believe in this point in the LN tanya comments she now has whole hours she cant account for this alter ego is extremly devouted to god which fuels tanyas hate for being x more because she considers it lowly for him to be brainwashing her like this but also realizes she cant do anything about it because she just isnt in a situation that allows her the freedom to stop using her blessing so she fears that unless the war stops soon she will be completly brainwash into the faithful as for why the soldiers are so bad the reason is simple the war has cost to many lifes but they are fighting on several fronts at the same time so they need to replenish the lost troops so obviously they cant give them proper training and are just simply giving them crash courses and sending to frontlines resulting in severe lack of quality of the soldiers they had at the start of the war.

I will forever call Canada "snow Mexico" from now on. Thank you Caw.

exactly. That's something the anime missed in season one even though its important. Using the power Being X gave her fills her with a religious euphoria in an attempt to mess with her head and brainwash her. But at the end of the day, it is still her choice to use it.
