If only Ascendance of a Bookworm could get a director as good as this one. The story deserves it. I've forgotten most of what happens in the early Apothecary LNs, except for the big plot points, so I'm looking forward to this season.

I've also read both BW and AD novels, and it's quite impressive how the AD's anime manages to elevate media that is already very solid. Cheers.

As an anime only I'm very excited for this season. There seems to be a lot of plot threads being set up here in the first episode. I am curious about if the old apothecary doing research on how to prevent locust plagues was actually trying to find out how to cause a plague instead. Seems like it could be a very potent weapon if you could somehow figure out the conditions that cause it.
