"The Astronaut" was Jin's "goodbye" song to ARMY before he left for the military. He called Chris up and said he wanted a song to tell ARMY he had to leave for a little while and that he loved us and "The Astronaut" was born. There are so many Easter eggs in the video. Chris has a cameo as the TV reporter and if you look carefully you can see the guitar Chris gifted to Jin on a chair in the corner of the room. The little girl represents ARMY, hence her purple bike and Jin sending her off with a helmet on to be okay while he is gone. This song always makes me tear up when I listen to it knowing the love Jin has for ARMY in it. BTS and Coldplay also collaborated on another song called "My Universe". BTS have also done a beautiful cover of "Fix You". There is a beautiful intro to this live performance by Chris talking about BTS and Jin. BTS and Coldplay are good friends and have such a special bond.

that is jin's signature mic...right before his enlistment a bunch of the sparkles came off and he posted a photo of it with a caption that was something along the lines of "guess this means it's time to go" which was NOT FUNNY AND CAUSED ME A LOT OF DISTRESS

yes!! great context to add: coldplay collabed with BTS on 'my universe' (LOVE!) and chris martin and jin seemed to hit it off well, to the point that jin asked chris to co-write his official solo debut before joining the military ... and that was 'the astronaut'! jin was one of the last members to release solo music, and he was the first to enlist, so that release is super emotional 🥹 but since discharged from the military, he's released his album 'happy' with these other songs !!! he was the first one back so he entertained us alone for a while hehe, but now jhope is back too (and touring) so they're slowly coming back to us 💜

i think that buenos aires performance is one of my all-time faves, its really beautiful to watch how much they enjoy each others' company 🥹 inspiring that people who seemingly have a large language barrier can connect so openly over their shared love of music, live performance, and their fanbases ✨ coldplay fan fo-eva! (also Teri's comment about the 'fix you' cover ... yeah, writing that one down for you in the future because you will love the members' voices)
